The nitro bottle version.
extremely dark beer with a nitro head so dense, very creamy looking. Beautiful. A thick tan froth sticking to the sides of the glass like peanut butter. Flaming nitro bubbles underneath fuels this massive entertaining head. Yes dude.
Aroma is big time chocolate. Toasted almonds. Sugar dosed coffee. Sweet. Very sweet.
Flavor is initially very sweet. Malty. Roasted oats. Oatie. Milk chocolate early but turns into 85% cocoa chocolate bar flavor.
Mouthfeel is of course smooth as silk with the nitro. Bubbles are lasting through the session - good for a nitro (usually the beer goes completely flat quick).
Only negative on this beer is the strong sweetness. I think it could have been just a little less. More dark roasty/burnt flavor would have balanced it a bit. Somewhat cloying after a few sips but not that bad. If you like very sweet and very smooth stouts this is your beer.
Jesus this nitro head is still half inch tall even after finishing the beer. A head on the bottom of the glass. Sick.
Got to give it to left hand for going with the nitro here. For some reason brewers seem to have an aversion to nitro these days. Not sure why. Could be due to the bad rants about it a few years back which claimed that nitro takes away from the flavor. I never agreed with that. Great beer and smart move by Left hand taking advantage of the rarity. Ill try almost any beer on nitro these days since it doesnt happen that often.
Serving type: nitro-bottle
