Separately bottled 'Nitro Milk Stout' from Left Hand.

This beer takes a really really rough pour to get a decent amount of head. Its really light and creamy just you would expect. The beer is nice and dark, almost black.

Smells just like the regular milk stout but a little bit toned down, has that toasted coffee flavor but not any of the other syrupy goodness that the original milk stout that I love has.

Its a nice nitro milk stout, but I prefer the regular milk stout to the nitro milk stouts. I could easily session the nitro version over the regular milk stout but its missing that characteristic thick, chewy texture.

The nitro bottle version.

extremely dark beer with a nitro head so dense, very creamy looking. Beautiful. A thick tan froth sticking to the sides of the glass like peanut butter. Flaming nitro bubbles underneath fuels this massive entertaining head. Yes dude.

Aroma is big time chocolate. Toasted almonds. Sugar dosed coffee. Sweet. Very sweet.

Flavor is initially very sweet. Malty. Roasted oats. Oatie. Milk chocolate early but turns into 85% cocoa chocolate bar flavor.

Mouthfeel is of course smooth as silk with the nitro. Bubbles are lasting through the session - good for a nitro (usually the beer goes completely flat quick).

Only negative on this beer is the strong sweetness. I think it could have been just a little less. More dark roasty/burnt flavor would have balanced it a bit. Somewhat cloying after a few sips but not that bad. If you like very sweet and very smooth stouts this is your beer.

Jesus this nitro head is still half inch tall even after finishing the beer. A head on the bottom of the glass. Sick.

Got to give it to left hand for going with the nitro here. For some reason brewers seem to have an aversion to nitro these days. Not sure why. Could be due to the bad rants about it a few years back which claimed that nitro takes away from the flavor. I never agreed with that. Great beer and smart move by Left hand taking advantage of the rarity. Ill try almost any beer on nitro these days since it doesnt happen that often.

The pint was poured heavy, and needed time to settle. The taste was smooth, creamy, and slightly sweet. It reminds me of what a Guinness is like at a pub in Ireland; the pour, the cooking (settling), and the creamy head.

Would I buy it again? Absolutely! I cannot wait until more places have this regularly.

Re-review. Old review and scores below. Bought a bottle in GCT for the train ride home. Yeah, I know its a stout. Anyway, based on the last time I had this, I was completely surprised!
Looks good. Dark brown with a light brown, sticky head.
Smells like malt with coffee tones and notes of caramel.
Tastes like a dream. Smooth, almost velvety, and rich. This gets the sweetness right without being syrupy. The aftertaste is less sweet, with a mellow burnt note. Just really good. I'm in love.
Mouthfeel is the only place this beer falters. Its a little on the watery side. Wish it was just a bit creamier.
Going by taste, this is one of the best milk stouts I've had. Ever.

Served in a bar from a bottle poured into a standard pint glass.
Nice look to it--opaque and black with a nice half finger head. 4
Slightly sour smell, but not in a bad way--just matter-of-fact. 3
Good, sweet taste. Typical milk stout. 4
Weak mouthfeel--disappointing. Watery. 2.5
Overall, this is a good beer, but as far as milk stouts go, this is only average. 3.5
