The Creaminess of Guiness in Dublin, but with more to offer. Great mouth feel and warming. Just right. perfect winter stout.

A: Pours black, thick tan head that takes a while to build, then lasts the entire pint. Great looking.
Smell - Toast, coffee, wet leaves.
Taste - A pleasant arc, sustained notes.
Mouth Feel - Silky, milky kiss. Slightly syrupy, but toasty and satisfying. It's a milk stout, sweet, and supposed to be like an after - dinner drink, so it wins me.
Overall Arc - satisfying from pour to sniff to after.

One of my favorite Stouts. (whole foods nj carries it)

Bought a six pack to try in summer. No disappointment A perfect pour, perfect way to end a holiday evening. The beer was consistent with my winter review. Sweet, but never cloying, great mouth feel, beautiful head that lasts and laces. Aromatic.

I actually tried the Milk Stout NITRO, not sure why this site has the two beers lumped together...

i served it closer to a cellar temp, cold but not from the fridge...

Appearance: Pours black…a thin (but full/dense) dark khaki colored head formed and lasted…tons of “legs” along the glass after I swirl it around…(4/5)

Smell: Deep, dark roasted malts, chocolate & coffee…some oatmeal and cream notes…sweet lactose while still having a full, dense aroma…very dark…a wonderful stout smell…(4.5/5)

Taste: Very creamy, dark roasted malts up front…tons of lactose/cream flavor…chocolate, coffee and (to a lesser extent) oatmeal notes all play a part…much like the nose, very flavorful…superb! (5/5)

Mouthfeel: Medium body…tons of fluffy carbonation creating a milkshake atmosphere on my palate…very nice…a relatively crisp finish with chocolate and lactose/cream after taste…(5/5)

Overall: Wow! This is a superb beer…the flavor and mouthfeel are wonderful (or add your favorite superlative here), creamy and smooth…many try a milk stout, but this one is on an upper echelon, top shelf serving…the bottle calls it “America’s Stout” and if this was the one stout we exported worldwide, I’d be fine with that as I’m sure Japan would be as well…it’s not a unique concept that’s going on, but a finely tuned specimen that needs no alteration (head could be thicker, but that’s the nit pickiest thing I can think of)… an outstanding brew that I couldn’t recommend higher for anybody looking for a fantastic beer or an after dinner, by the fire sipper…(4.75/5)

12oz. nitro-bottle poured into a guinness pint glass.

A- awesome. dark brown/black with a finger of dense tan head only a nitro beer can have.

S- Lactose sweetness with a hint of cocoa, dark roasty-ness, and coffee.

T- Pretty good. Dark malt with a chocolate/coffee thing going on. Lactose sweetness isn't as prevalent as in the nose. There's certainly some balancing bitterness which is very welcome.

M- mouthfeel is fantastic, mainly because of the nitro. Creamy for days, with a nice carbonation.

O- The nitro transforms this beer from mediocre to very good. This really makes me wish other breweries could bottle their stouts in nitro-bottle. Lancaster Milk Stout nitro-bottle anyone?

Poured hard, as indicated, both into a Perfect Pint and into a standard pint glass.

A=Very nice, rich, dark brown with creamy white head.

S=Hint of roasted coffee and malt.

T=Smooth, creamy...but average. Coffee, cocoa. Better than average and a good representation of the style.

M=Easy going...perhaps a tad too watery for stout, but easier drinkability.

O=I wish I another bottle and definitely worth trying. Tried to make a "Half and Half" (or "Black and Tan" with the New Glarus Apple Ale with limited success...this was a case where the sum was greater than the parts, as the combination, particularly around the separation line, was awesome).
