Poured into a snifter.

4.0 A: Black color. One finger of creamy tan nitro head. Retention is nitro good and a moderate amount of it sticks to the glass.

4.0 S: Good bit of chocolate. Vanilla-esque aroma from the lactose. Supple roast, a touch of coffee, and a hint of molasses. Smells pretty good in spite of the nitro.

3.5 T: Taste is like the nose. Chocolate, vanilla, lactose richness, supple roast, and hints of coffee and molasses. The nitro doesn't do too much damage here either.

4.0 M: Medium body. Creamy nitro carbonation, or nitrogenation, or whatever. Super smooth.

4.0 D: The nitro didn't suck the life out of this like it usually does. I still hate nitro, but this beer is a good application for it.

I had this beer at a local bar. They put eight craft options on the side away from the commoners.

Served in a fluted glass, I got about two fingers of foam from the pour. It looked good. The coloring was dark, but it is not too viscous on the pour.

The smell and flavor are like a sweet espresso roast. I get some light hopping in the background of the taste, as well. This is a pretty good tasting sweet stout.

Overall this is a good beer. I am a little hampered by the fact that I am allergic to the lactose, otherwise I would drink more of these.

Almost-but-not-opaque black/brown with a creamy full cappuccino colored head. The lactose gives this beer lacing for days.

Smells of dark chocolate, root beer, tobacco, anise, espresso. My wife says it reminds her of tiramisu.

Tastes creamy, sweetened coffee, slight char, cappuccino, buttered spice bread, black molasses.

Full bodied, heavy mouth coating, creamy, viscous.

The is very enjoyable and a great beer after a meal to curb the craving for dessert. Its very easy to drink but very satisfying. Too filling to drink more than a couple. This is a great sweet stout!

Poured in to a pint with a vigourous pour. Nitro version of the beer. Creamy, dense, 2 finger khaki colored head.

Nice chocolate aroma, a bit roasty, light milky notes. Hints of raisin and slight metallic aroma. A bit earthy.

Flavor was excellent. Creamy, milky flavor with good amounts of roast and chocolate. Nearly a chocolate milk type dessert. Hints of raisin and slight malty flavors. Very low bitterness a slight earthy bitterness in the finish.

Mouthfeel was amazing. Very creamy and silky. Medium body, low carbonation. Crisp finish.

Overall this is an excellent beer for something that is readily available. Great mouthfeel and flavor.

Pours black, with a still appearance then after a few moments some surface tan foam shows itself. Smells of robust oats, toasted grains, some lactose, some coffee, a bit of leather and some graham and rye bread. Sweet beer, with some interesting root and bitterness along the bread and sweet graham. I like this and there are some flavors I just can't place my finger on. Nice beer. Silky feel with some light carb and an off dry finish. I like this beer.

Great beer. Very smooth texture, very full flavored. Poured into a pint glass. Very dark body with light brown head. My wife really doesn't like beer, but surprisingly loved this. If you like a nice thick beer, check this out.
