ROASTED MALT AND COFFEE FLAVORS BUILD THE FOUNDATION OF THIS CREAMY SWEET STOUT.

Milk sugar in your stout is like cream in your coffee. Dark and delicious, America’s great milk stout will change your perception about what a stout can be. “Preconceived notions are the blinders on the road to enlightenment.” Udderly delightful.

A - Hard poor produced a pitch black in color beer. Fun to watch the "flow" from the bottom of the glass as the head grows to a two finger, khaki colored head with solid retention and moderate lacing.

S - Scents of coffee, chocolate, and cream. The smell is absolutely delicious, and only makes me that much more anxious to taste it.

T - Follows the nose with coffee and rich chocolate. However, the lactose brings out a sweetness and creaminess that brings it all together, into one ridiculously delicious experience.

M - Thick and creamy, like a milk stout should be. Especially coming from a nitro tap or nitro bottle. I've had LHMS in regular bottles, nitro taps, and in the case of this review, nitro bottles. It's hard to beat nitro tap obviously, but the nitro bottle is every bit as outstanding. Very smooth and creamy texture, making it more than sessionable.

O - I've been a huge fan of Left Hand Milk Stout for a while now, but felt that bottled LHMS really missed the mark. That was, until, I finally got my hands on Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro (bottle.) I waited a year for Left Hand Brewery to get their nitro bottles distributed out to North Carolina. Now that it's here, it was well worth the wait. If you've had LHMS in a bottle, try it again when you can find the nitro bottles, because the experience is completely different. It tastes like draft beer at home.

I'm big into stouts, but I rank this as my all-time favorite thus far.

Pours pitch black with a creamy thick off white head that leaves alot of lacing on edge of glass. Smells like a cross between a coffee shop and a dark chocolate bar. Looks amazing. Taste is very smooth and creamy. Mild chocolate sweetness balances with the bitter roasted coffee. Very good stout.

Seems legit, served in a shifter.

A: Pours a deep opaque dark black-brown color, with a short caramel color head that dissipates quickly with good amounts of lacing.

S: Robust aroma, dark chocolate, coffee, barley, malts, yeast

T: Smooth flavor, choclate, coffee, barley, malts, failry sweet, hint of hops, bold flavor

M: Medium carbonation, very smooth, medium body flavors, could use some more actually but none the less, it is quite good and is fairly balanced.

O: It's a good stout, it's well balanced, flavors are good, and was about the standard price per bottle for a craft beer, so it was worth it and is worth a try.

This is a very good, dark, thick, high octane, no nonsense, Milk stout. At 6%, my impression is that the AVB is high vs. traditional stouts, so go slow, bros.

I had this at Rudy's in NY (of Steely Dan's "Black Cow" fame, which would be a great name for it there, since it's sold as the in-house, white label stout.

Very creamy, milky toasted stout. A female friend of mine, who hates all beer, has become a regular Left Hand Stout drinker, which says a lot.

Pours a very effervescent mahogany with 1 thumb of caramel colored head. Good lacing & average head retention

S: Roasty & coffe note

T: Follows the nose , some chocolate too up front. Roasty & cocoa notes as this warms, slight lactic acid twang & dryness as well. Finishes roasty, a little dry with a whisper of vanilla mocha & just a bit of figgyness

MF: Medium bodied, silky smooth carbonation

Very drinkable, a nice presentation of the style
