Poured from bottle into Jester King pint.

A- pours a nice black with a 1 finger yan head. Very little lacing remains.

S- roasted malts, chichi late, and some pine notes.

T- chocolate at first followed by some roast. Not as much pine happiness as in the nose but it's there.

M- medium body, light carbonation. Nitro makes this crazy creamy with the lactose shining through as well.

O- very solid everyday milk stout.

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, bottled 2/15/2012. Pours clear very dark reddish brown color with a nice 2 finger fairly dense tan head with great retention that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some nice spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, caramel, cream, vanilla, and a touch of herbal hops. Nice and well balanced aromas, with good strength. Taste of chocolate, coffee, caramel, molasses, cream, vanilla, roasted malt, biscuit, and light herbal hops. Light herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, caramel, coffee, and vanilla on the finish for a bit. Very nice flavor balance and not cloyingly sweet at all. Quite robust feeling as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very nice creamy and slightly slick mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming after the finish present. Overall this is a damn nice and well rounded milk stout. Nice balance of flavors; and very smooth and enjoyable to drink.

Served in a Duvel tulip, slightly chilled

A - pours a dark brown with a light brown head, three fingers' worth after an aggressive pour. Some lacing, otherwise the head fades quickly

S - sweet malt, hint of chocolate, not much hops to speak of

T - big roasted malt up front with an undertone of sweetness to follow

M - fairly thin, mild carbonation, no hint of alcohol

O - this is a good stout, nothing that knocks my socks off but definitely no negatives either. Certainly one that I could see drinking with some regularity

Looks like a stout to me, dark brown that's close to black with very little light allowed through if any. The head seems to struggle at first, but it comes up a.creamy and solid one finger high and doesn't go anywhere. Spotty lacing is consistently deposited on the way down.
The aroma lacks the depth the flavor offers, giving only a barley-like malts base with some lactose and sweetness along with a touch of powdered milk, but lightly.
The flavor makes this beer seemalmost more like a porter in strength, but that's held against the current trend of making everything beastly and, as such, holds up to traditional expectations. Caramel-like sweetness melds with very gently roasty malts free of char or astringency. Lactose is ever present and it's at an even keel as far as dryness, proving itself a milk stout more than the dryness of the aroma attests to.
For being a widget-free nitro, this beer is impressively creamy and smooth. In the feel, though, is where I think a little more heft could have been given to this medium-bodied beer to put it at the top.

I saw an article about this brew in one of my beer magazines and could barely contain myself. I love stouts, I love Left Hand Brewing and I love pouring beer vigorously. With this brew you can literally turn the bottle upside down while pouring and the beer will not overflow your glass. Left Hand Brewing says they are "Taking America Back" with this brew. I might have to agree with them.

Once the glass is filled with liquid a nice creamy half-inch head forms on top of the black beer. The head is sturdy and should hold up throughout the drink. Wonderful coffee roast and chocolate aromas greet your nose as you pull the beer to your lips. Mouthfeel is very smooth and creamy. The coffee and chocolate you smelled greet your tongue in a smilar fashion as your nose, warm and inviting.

This is wonderful full-bodied brew that I would recommend to everyone

I recently had some of the regular milk sout on tap a week or two ago at Melt and I liked it. This tastes clean and light. It is extremely well balanced and mild.

The regular has more bite and this almost has too little. It's a great brew, but even warm there is not a lot (just very good) flavor.

12oz bottle into a pint glass

Ap- pours a dark dark brown (almost black) body with an amazing 1 inch head that is super creamy and has awesome retention. One of the best looking beers I have ever seen.

Ar- roasted malts, coffee, cream and a hint of chocolate

T- Not a ton of flavor. I would say the roasty malts are (obviously) the most straightforward. But then I really can't make out much else. Some coffee, maybe some chocolate. Thats about it.

M- Super, Duper, Ooper creamy. Little carbonation and medium/thick bodied.

O- amazing head is still on the beer and I am about halfway done. Unfortunately that is by far the best part about this beer. To me the taste could be a lot more complex. Still a decent beer and I don't know if I have ever given a beer a 5 for appearance before. Worth a try!

This beer was served out of a 12oz. bottle dispensed into a glass....

Presentation - Label artwork is very original, unique, and eye-catching!

Appearance - Pours out a deep brown almost black color with a 1 finger light mocha head that dissipated rather quickly into a frothy foam ring. Not much lacing left behind at all.

Smell - Smell is amazing! Aroma is sweet with scents of roasted coffee and chocolate malts.

Taste - Taste is very nice. Tastes of heavy black coffee and chocolate. The roasted coffee flavor is very powerful and sticks on the tongue. Little to no hops are detectable in this brew.

Mouthfeel - Full bodied. Thick, silky-smooth mouthfeel with little carbonation.

Drinkability - Extremely flavorful with a silky-smooth mouthfeel that makes for an extremely drinkable full bodied stout that does not fill up or bloat the drinker. This is definitely a beer that could be consumed in high numbers!

This was my first offering from Left Hand and I was not disappointed. I thought this stout was exceptional and I would definitely recommend it.

Serving type - Nitro bottle

Appearance - Dark black with amazing thick 4+ inch head after the water fall, cascasde effect took over, creating one of the most impressive apperances ive ever seen. Lacing was impressive also.

Smell - Malts, chocolate, lactate milk and creme. A little cocoa, nut and some molasses.

Taste - Sweet, mellow milk stout. Not overly sweet. Malts are medium boldness, along with subtitle chocolate and cocoa. Molasses and added sugars give it more sweet, smooth flavor. No alcohol at all is present. Slight caramel/toffee flavor at the finish.

Mouthfeel - Sweet, smooth and pretty light on the tounge. Plenty of malts, some sweet chocolate and cocoa hit the tounge. Palette gets more malts, some sweetness and a little milk lactate. Aftertaste is malty, stoutish and sweet.

Overall - Really nice beer, amazing to pour and watch develop. Taste is light, smooth and very easy to drink. No booze comes out at all, makes this very easy to enjoy.

a - poured a three-fingers creamy tan head into a pint glass (my left hand milk stout nitro glass from the GABF release party to be exact). i poured this beer vigorously and it had a beautiful cascading head that was very long-lasting. terrific job on this nitro beer bottle by left hand. the body was dark black.
s - roasted chocolate and lactose.
t - chocolate milk with a roasty finish.
m - so creamy, not on the level of milk stout nitro on draught but i'm not complaining. this is done incredibly well.
o - always loved this beer on nitro and it does not disappoint in the bottle.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a standard pint glass.
"Suggested" hard pour. Initially little or no head evident, then a delayed cascade effect to the bottom of the glass and then rising to a very creamy head of frothy foam. Cool.
Aroma-Powdered chocolate , faint coffee
Taste-Chocolate milk, roasty, coffee with cream, subtle caramel and toffee notes. Super creamy great mouthfeel. Tasty and very easy to drink. The look of a Guinness but with more body, creamier, with a sweeter, not as sour, taste. An "American" Guinness if you will, with all due respect. Well worth a try.
