ROASTED MALT AND COFFEE FLAVORS BUILD THE FOUNDATION OF THIS CREAMY SWEET STOUT.

Milk sugar in your stout is like cream in your coffee. Dark and delicious, America’s great milk stout will change your perception about what a stout can be. “Preconceived notions are the blinders on the road to enlightenment.” Udderly delightful.

Nitro bottle poured into a shaker pint, bottled 10/4/12

A: Opaque black, nitro produces that creamy, light brown head that sticks around til the last drop, good sheet lacing left on the glass. Damn you nitro, you make for a fine looking beer.

S: Big oatmeal sweetness, lots of mocha coffee, toasty, roasty malt, some sweet nuttiness.

T: Loads of sweet chocolate, heavy on the oversweetned coffee/cappuccino, theres a definite dairy component, its a relatively sweet beer, but does a decent job at staying away from being cloying. A lingering toasted almond, nutty flavor on the finish.

M: Medium light, very creamy, a bit watery as well, nitro adds that trademark creamy feel. Almost feels like drinking a glass skim milk in consistency.

O: Nice brew here overall, creamy mouthfeel and a good one for when you want a sweet stout fix. Heck, my old man's a die hard Bud Light drinker and after he willingly tried a sip he said, "hey thats tasty."

Deep brown with pale brown edges, good initial head, some lacing.

Nice roasty smell, some cocoa, bready malts.

Chocolate milk, sweet malt, hops add a bit of bitter chocolate finish.

Rich smooth mouthfeel really helps this along.

I'm a big fan of the style, but I thought this was nice. Nothing too adventurous about it, but very enjoyable.

I had the regular Milk Stout, not the Nitro. Poured from a 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. About 1/2" tan head, which dissipates quickly leaving lace up the sides of the glass. Aroma is about what you would expect with a stout - coffee-like black patent malt is clear from the roasting. Some dark chocolate and toffee. Not much grassy, citrus or floral notes from the hops though - I would usually expect a bit more in a stout. Taste is very sweet due to lactose, also with strong malty and roasted flavor you would expect with a stout. Very little bitterness from the hops to counteract the sweetness. Mouthfeel is robust, heavy with moderate to light carbonation. Overall, I like it - there are not many milk stouts out there and this is a good one!
