ROASTED MALT AND COFFEE FLAVORS BUILD THE FOUNDATION OF THIS CREAMY SWEET STOUT.

Milk sugar in your stout is like cream in your coffee. Dark and delicious, America’s great milk stout will change your perception about what a stout can be. “Preconceived notions are the blinders on the road to enlightenment.” Udderly delightful.

I am a huge fan of Colorado beer and I saw a milk stout (totally new one for me) I had to give it a shot.

Appearance - I almost cried how dark and gorgeous the color was. A jet black body with a creamy brown head on top.

Smell - A mild smell of chocolate, milk, and nutty flavors. It can be pretty hard to pick up and wish it was easier to pick up

Taste - Now this is what I am talking about. This stout was a great blend of hoppy nuts, mocha, and cream. This could be a daily drinker.

Mouthfeel - Not much carbonation but it doesn't need much. The taste doesnt stick around long enough though and mellows out to fast.

Overall - I really really like this beer. Only the light scernt and quickly ending flavor are its downfalls. I will buy more of this beer... now

A 12oz bottle with a BB of Sept 2012. Acquired ages ago from Trembling Madness in York, and stored in my garage. I like the purple cow on the label - makes me think of Milka. Time to crack it open....

Poured into a Duvel tulip. Black, though intense light reveals it to be a deep brown colour. Yields a small head of creamy tan foam that dissipates after a minute or so. An intense aroma of roasted malt with notes of burnt grain, liquorice, coffee, cocoa, hints of dried fruit, faint molasses and lactose sweetness. Show-stopping.

Tastes of sweet, dark malt with a mild finish. Notes of chocolate, roasted malt, lactose, faint dried fruit and a hint of caramel. Quite dry, with mild stewed hops in the background. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, but a bit thin for the style. Lightly astringent. Aftertaste of sweet roasted malt and faint chocolate.

A decent milk stout, though my expectations trumped reality. Looks OK, but the flavour lacks depth and richness, while the body is a tad insubstantial. It's both sweeter and less roasty than I anticipated. However, the aroma is awesome - tons of roasted malt notes to stimulate your senses. A good, easy drinking brew that goes down nicely; just don't expect a world-beater. Worth sampling.

Ah, the elusive (for me in Quebec anyways) nitro bottle. Thanks to Masterski for this one.

Poured from a 12oz (nitro) bottle, bottled on 04/04/12.

Appearance: A hard pour (like the label says) reveals a very dark body with an average, creamy tan head. The cascading effect is nice but short lived. Makes up for it a bit with thick sheets of lacing.

Smell: All about the glorious chocolate. Milky, chunky, semi-sweet, powdery and a very mild roastedness.

Taste: Milky chocolate, like a shake. Mix of bakers chocolate and cream. Simple yet good flavors.

Mouthfeel: Ultra smooth like silk (thanks nitro!) but does carry a very faint bitterness tucked in the back.

Overall: Very easy to drink and while not complex, i don't think that's the goal. Worth grabbing.

A: This had some nice smoke coming out of the bottle for starters. The appearance is a nice dark color with some crazy carbonation in the middle but not throughout. And is complimented with a thin, creamy, mocha type head.

S: Instant chocolate and caramel malts in the aroma with a hint of lactose and yeast.

T: Flavor consists of chocolate, caramel, and some roasted malts. The finish is just like a stout with that dry, bready taste.

M: Mouth feel is very smooth like drinking chocolate milk or something of that nature.

O: This is only the 2nd Milk Stout I ever had and its just as good as any other stout. Really creamy and flavorful. This is a top notch stout and I would recommend it to anyone. Great beer!
