bomber into tulip. bottled on 02/07/12/. really sick label.
A: dark brown body with a brownish/white bubbly head. retention is moderate and wouldnt hate for a bit better lacing. however, can see some legs....me like.
S: the nose is a battle between hickory smoke and sweet candied sugars w/ the smoke winning. very pleasant aroma. smokey without being overbearing.
T: the palate starts deeply smokey. almost burnt. you can definitely get a moderate amount of lactose as well. finish leaves a bit of tobacco tar in your mouth.
M: moderate carbonation on a pretty full-bodied porter.
D: to me this would be a great beer to gateway a non-smoked beer fan into beer smoked wonderland. just enough smoke to compete with the sweetness to take the edge off. certainly a good offering from left hand in the smoked porter department.
