This maybe the most smoky, smoked porter I have had the opportunity to try. I would love to do a side-by-side with Alaskan Smoked Porter. I have found few smoked beers I didn't like. Cinderbock was one that flopped on me but The Schlenkerla Rauchbiers are all flavor I enjoy. This beer though from Left Hand, ... came out of nowhere. I was not expecting all of this. WOW.
Appearance: Pours a dark almost black color with a beige head and a spotty cap.
Smell: The smoke aroma I could smell from across the table when Eric opened the bottle. Big burnt grant charcoal fire pit and molasses flavors fill the nose.
Taste: Again very smoky in the mouth. There is a smoked meat flavor, black licorice roasted chocolate toffee caramel, and coffee. Everything great about a porter plus the nice smoked flavors and campfire-like attribute.
Mouthfeel: Creamy and warm with the alcohol showing through and the smoke flavor hiding it. Cling to the cheeks.
Drinkability: This is a sipping beer. But very enjoyable sipping for sure.
Hope this is helpful.

Pours near black with a beige head. Some webby and ring-like lace. No light passes.
Smoke first, then chocolate malt aromas.
Cocoa start and the smoke kicks in (with a vengeance). After the first sip, the palate adjusts and I start to detect a complex malt profile. I sense there's some nuttiness from Crystal Malt, semisweet cocoa from Chocolate Malt and then just a touch of coffee from Black Patent. There's plenty of smoke to the end. The body is full but the carbonation is also elevated.

a - poured a one finger thick creamy, coffee-colored head into a snifter that left a thick ring throughout. the body was dark brown, bordering on black.
s - light smoke and peaty aroma.
t - smoky and spicy with a finish of roasted chocolate as it warms.
m - creamy and medium.
o - one of, if not, the best smoked beers i've ever had.
