Sampled in a tasting with fisherman34 and oakbluff. This one was a welcome surprise to the tasting table. Poured into a snifter.
Pours black as night with 1/2 inch of tan head that retains well and leaves lots of lace. Aroma has tons of smoke and chocolate, sharp spiciness and heavy molasses. Delicious.
Taste is well balanced with bittersweet chocolate malt, molasses, brown sugar, light fruitiness, pepper and, of course, lots of smoke. Wow, this is potent stuff! Mouthfeel is nothing short of heavy duty, carbonation is mellow as it should be. This is extremely enjoyable, but it's super heavy. It's a sipper, and no more than one at a time for me please. Great for a nightcap.
