Bottled 2/7/12. Refrigerated since purchase.
Dark body with a very nice sized tannish brown head. Very good lacing. No light gets through but it looked lighter while pouring. Good retention.
Aroma is moderately smokey, hard to pick out any details.
Flavor is less bold than expected. Smoke is present but not strong. Underlying malt seems more like a normal porter than an imperial. Slight metallic notes.
Mouthfeel is dry but thinner than I'd expect on an imperial.
Overall an enjoyable beer but not one of my favorite in the smoked category. Super drinkable. To me it's not good that I can't tell it is imperial, but others may appreciate it.
