A: The beer is hazy yellow to golden yellow in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high white head that died down, leaving a thin layer and patches of bubbles on the surface, a collar around the edge of the glass, and some lacing down the sides.
S: Light aromas of tropical fruits are present in the nose along with some hints of floral hops.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste starts out with some hints of sweetness and hints of tropical fruits and is followed by a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate with slight bits of crispness and a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is definitely a unique beer that seems like a hybrid between a tripel (with the maltiness and sweetness) and an English IPA (with the light amount of bitterness). The beer hides its alcohol well but I wouldn't call it sessionable because the mouthfeel seems to have a heavy dose of malts.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Hazy deep golden to orange colour, large to moderate white head. Strong sweetish aroma and flavour of crystal malts + fruity and piney American hops, notes of oranges. A quite good IPA.

From notes 1/13/14: Pours a near-clear orange honey gold with a single finger of beige, moderately lasting and variously bubbled head that leaves only a speckling of lace as it recedes. Aroma is light for the style, more like a sweet pale ale. With that said it is a well-balanced brew of sweet caramel malt, floral, herbal and resinous hops. Taste is similar with the addition of Citrus hop notes, but the sweet malt is less balanced with the hops than in the nose, the malt becoming more dominant. However, the hop bitterness is nicely represented at mid-sip increasing through the finish into aftertaste though flavors are muted.

This was poured into an English pint glass. The appearance was a moderately hazy burnt orange color. Lighter colored hues of almost transparent burnt yellow grace along the sides if the glass. The head was about a finger’s worth of white foaminess. After dissipation, moderate sticky lacing eventually slides into the beer. The smell starts off with a sweet biscuity to breadiness rolling into a sly little bit of a grassy spicy hops. Gets slightly earthy as well. Soapiness of a normal English IPA is there yet tame. The taste was moderately sweet. Low rolling earthy to semi-spicy hops slide into the aftertaste and into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable sweet to spicy feel slyly rolling over a nice low key carbonation. Overall, for an English IPA, its extremely well done. Hats off to Left Hand for pulling this one off. Pass the fish n’chips!
