I have had this individual bottle cellared since April 2010. I've kept it at exactly 42.5 degrees F for the 2 years its spent aging.

A - Poured into a sampling snifter it is dark as night with minimal head.

S - The aroma deep dark chocolate and a hint of bitter coffee fill the air with the pour.

T - Black licorice, coffee, burnt malts, smokey middle, and a slightly bitter ending bfore finishing again with burnt coffee. This is a full flavored stout that offers this category an exceptional specimen.

M - The feel is slightly coarse with an almost ribbony feel throughout. Basically the texture is stead from start to finish making for an easy to drink beer while allowing the robust flavor character to come through.

~ What more can I say other than go find yourself one of these retirees if you can. This beer, while aged appropriately has given true value to my cellaring project. I am extremely pleased and would not hesitate to recommend this fine beer to a friend.

A – black…not much of a head
s- not much to report here…roasted malt, I guess
t- Pretty darn good. Coffee, chocolate notes…roasted malt. Alcohol is well hidden.
m – full bodied and creamy, but with a dry finish. The most interesting aspect of the beer, for sure.
0- Very drinkable stout. I would have this one again, for sure.

Nice thick tan colored head filled with dense foamy froth. No much lacing. Thin-ish brew that black.

Awkwardly smokey. Kinda weird. Milky, chocolaty, smoke, brunt, crispy...

Hum, bitter, dry, weird, thin, watery. Definitely a Foreign stout and not bad on those premises. Could use more complexity and blending. The smoke is awkward and over taking. Not my favorite. I sure hope you like smoked brew, I hope they're not all like this one. The flavors come together like rotten fish...

No. 1 Would be much better without the rauch addition. I'm not a fan of smoked brews... weird. Can't recommend even at $2/12oz. Drain pour.
