A: Pours a very clear (when held up to the light) dark brown to black in color with hints of red. This beer poured with very little light tan head which dissipated immediately. Very little lacing is observed.
S: Aromas of roasted malts, cocoa, and just a slight hint of the peppers.
T: Lots of upfront flavors of roasted malts followed by some hints of chocolate and pepper. Sweet and spicy but definitely on the sweeter side. The aftertaste is spicy.
M: Medium to full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly creamy.
O: Very enjoyable and definitely a beer I would want to have again. I have been pretty pleased with most of the dark beer I have had from Left Hand. Definitely different than other porters, the spiciness in the finish is really something special.

The beer comes in a dark brown/black color.
The aroma has tons of roasted malt and coffee.
The flavor follows with a roasted malt, loads of coffee, and then this rye spiciness on the finish. Some toffee sweetness in the middle.
The mouthfeel is medium.
The rye is a bit in this well made porter like beer.

a - dark brown, nearly black. Quickly dissipating head
s - roasty and coffee in the nose.
t- same on the taste with smokiness and subtle hints of chili.
o- This is the first peppered beer besides Prairie bomb that works for me. I could enjoy a couple of these before moving on.
