A: Hazy pale gold, with a medium-sized, white, quickly diminishing head. Lots of sediment left in the bottle with the last ounce or so.
S: They mention that it’s brewed with cilantro and orange peel on the label. I definitely get the orange peel, but the cilantro is more subdued than expected...no wait. on the nose, that is. Good bit of clove and some lemon.
T: The good mix of summer-like wheat flavors swirl around the mouth. Cilantro? Yes, but more toward the finish. Up front, lemon and berry are most notable, supported by a moderate cereal presence. Along with some cilantro, there a huge linger strawberry flavor on the finish.
M: Medium-light body, juicy texture up front, moderate carbonation.
D: This was a nice surprise. Their honey raspberry beer was one of the first beers to get me away from the US and Canadian macro-brews, but as my tastes developed, the beer I once loved fell short... mostly because I grew to hate really fruity beers. But I’m glad to find a beer I like made by the brewery that help expand my beer horizons. I’m not saying this beer is anything special... but it’s enjoyable.

I enjoyed this beer quite a bit. It pours a cloudy pale yellow with yeasty chunks in the bottle. There is a white creamy head with a clove and coriander nose, along with some yeastiness.

There is a refreshing, but spicy bite to the beer, somewhere between sweet lemony malts and acerbic citrus. The beer is a tad lemony though, and it gets more watery as it settles. Some of the better parts start to come undone as the beer warms a bit. There is more clove in the aroma as it settles and there is also some wheaty pricklishness in the mouthfeel. This is a very light, fairly simple, good, refreshing witbier.

Appearance: Hazy yellow brown in color, with a profusion of swirling sediment, a massive, bright-white head, which retains well, and scattered, patchy broken lace.

Aroma: Over-the-top coriander dominates the aroma, with lesser, but still prominent notes of orange zest, and pepper. The aroma is classic for the style, although it may be a bit more intense than typical.

Taste: Opens with lots of coriander, as the taste progresses, there are spicy notes from the wheat malt, lots of orange rind and pepper notes, specifically white pepper. As the taste draws to a close, bitter orange rind dominates the taste.

Mouth feel: Smooth and soft, with a little roughness from the carbonation.

Drinkability/notes: Its not Hoegaarden, but then again, would we expect that? Its a bit over-the-top for the style, but so what? Better over-the-top than weak and insubstantial. In all, its a good effort in brewing and well-deserving of a try.

Presentation: Packaged in a standard, unmarked brown glass longneck bottle with a pop-off crown, served in a standard pint tap glass.

Bought at the Corner Store in Tupelo, bottled

Wow, this beer is yellow, but it sure smell right for a witbier, yeasty with some spicyness in it. I was sold on the first sip with this beer, this is a great belgian style white ale, the spice is just right in it, not bitter at all. Very nice, I have not had a witbier that waw'ed me like this one in a long timem not just a going with the fad immitation but a solid beer, try it some time this summer, you won't be dissapointed!

Pours a finger of white fizzy soda-pop like head that settles to almost a layer over the beer. I stirred up the sediment and added it to the glass. Liquid is yellow blond with lotsa organish particulates hanging around. Smells lemon, coriander, pine, and sage. Bit of saison spiciness. Some tropical esters, but in a very dry way.

Tastes coriander spice, a bt wet from malt sweet, and yeast flatness. Mild spicy zing is lost under the weight of the malt and yeast. Md body and moderate, but sharp carbonation. Not much in the flavor and the nose was very different from the flavor.

In honor of the dawning summer I have chosen to begin the blog with a seasonally appropriate beer. This Montana offering is a cloudy, straw-colored Belgian style wheat. It pours nicely out of the bottle with a light white head that fades quickly. Spices such as coriander and white pepper lend a citrus-like, semi-sweet character to the beer that lingers on the finish. Slightly tart, but easy to drink. Lighter body and carbonation lends it to quaffing. A refreshing summer beer; drink at a BBQ with friends on a hot night.

This one poured a cloudy yellow with hints of orange and a ton of floating sediment. A white head was left behind with lacing here and there. The nose has a lot of spices (peppercorn, coriander) and citrus peel. There's some pineapple in the mix, along with wheat malt.

The flavor is definitely citrus (lemon and grapefruit), citrus peel, and spices up front, especially the coriander. There's even a slight hint of coconut in there, I've picked this up in other wits. This is a medium bodied wit, definitely heavier than the average.

This is for sure the most complex and flavorful witbier I've had.... but not necessarily the best. It's drinkability suffers where other wits do not. It is due to the overload of spices; it's not necessarily bad at first, but you're ready to move on after a couple.

Still, it gets props for standing out from the rest. Great brew.

2" billowing white head with excellent retention and nice lacing. Tons of visible carbonation. Hazy, pale yellow beer. The nose is typical witbier....wheat, yeast, citrus, spice, and pepper. Wheat flavor folled closely by clove, lemony citrus, coriander, and spicinesswith a nice bit of hops in the finish. Very drinkable, this beer gave me more than expected.

Pours a pale straw color with nice white head the fades quickly.

Aromas of coriander, banana, ginger, and a bit of orange zest come from this brew.

The same characteristics found in the aroma make another appearance in the flavor.

All in all a good solid brew, nothing surprising.

Pours a clouded yellow straw with orange tones. Nose is wheat funk. Stronger lemon character than anything. Flavor is very dry and crisp; almost too much so I would say. Seems to fall off a bit too quickly. Feel is kind of typical. Overall it is decent. No great shakes. A bit too tart on the flavor, and it effects everything overall.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass

A: Appealing pale yellow color with nice white head that slowly dissipates to a thin white film. Opaque, but plenty of yeast particles floating around.
S: Very strong citrusy smell, some corriander as mentiuoned, almost too strong and sweet
T: Hello corriander. Hello pepper. Very refreshing, citrus (lemon) in background.
M: Medium bodied, carbonated
D: Very pleasant, I'm a few months late in drinking this (as its 30 degrees out), but I'll look for this again next summer. Not remarkable and a little too much pepper flavor and not enough citrus as smell suggested, but very drinkable.

11/29/07- Received from a friend as a gift.

Presentation- 12oz bottle with either a born on or best by date on the back. If it's best by, it's past it's prime by a bit.

Appearance- Classic white-lemon pith yellow colored pour with lots of fine yeast particles floating around. About a 1/2 inch head and leaves nice lace sheeting.

Smell- Scent of tons of corriander, white pepper and fruit loops. So, I guess that means some earl grey tea to me as I think the scent's are exactly the same. A bit too sweet for a wit nose I think.

Taste- Yeah, they overdid the corriander just a bit here. They must have dumped in double the amount to try to get "extra" Belgian. Heavy lemon taste as well with white pepper and a definite sweetness.

Mouthfeel- Medium carbonation, kind of a sugary mouthcoating.

Drinkability- Well, they weren't off the mark by much. A pretty decent attempt at a Belgian wit. A bit over the top, but still pretty good.

Pours a cloudy yellow with the spices visible floating in it. The head is bleach white. The aroma consists of coriander, wheat malt, orange peel and has a yeasty spiciness to it. The mouthfeel is medium in body, yet airy when pushed around with the tongue. Upfront there's flavors of wheat malt with a spicy yeastiness. Coriander is noticeable in the middle. Already this beer is refreshing on a hot summer night. Some floral hints appear in the middle also. Very enjoyable witbier. If you're a fan of the style, give this a try.

Pours from the bottle a cloudy light yellow hue. Initially creates a nice tight white head which slowly fades from view to a few splotches of isolated foam.

Nice aromas of wheat grain, clove, lemon and banana greet the nose.

Mouthfeel is lively and spritzy as expected for the style, but for some reason seems a but thin and stinging.

Taste was refreshingly light with notes spices (especially coriander), lemon peel, orange, clove, wheat and a bit of vanilla.

Finish started out pleasantly sweet bit had a somewhat weird bitter tang at the end. Odd for the style. Overall a nice summer thirst quencher with some decent complexity.

Purchased as part of a mixed 6 pack. Thought I better get this one down as summer is (officially) over.

Appearance: Poured into a standard pint glass. The beer is a hazy pale yellow with a white head about 1 inch in height. Head stuck around for a whiole and left a little lacing.

Smell: Citrus aroma (orange and lemon), slightly yeasty (caused when I swirled the bottle and upended it at the end of the pour). There is some spice hear as well.

Taste: The taste falls heavily in line with the scent. Lemon citrusy, a bit of wheat malt, a little bready.

Mouthfeel: Medium to light in body with some decent carbonation.

Drinkability: Wish I would have had this one sooner (like in the summer when it was hot). A good beer.
