Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Duvel tulip glass.

Appearance: Pours a very hazy golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Huge four finger white head that slowly fades into a thin patchy layer. Leaves a good amount of lacing.

Smell: A fruity, spicy, and yeasty Belgian style aroma with good hints of fruit esters. Belgian yeast with hints of peppers, farmhouse funk, and clove. Fruit hints of banana, pear, apple, white grape, and citrus orange and lemon. Pale malt with hints of wheat, straw, grains, and cracker. Subtle hints of earthy and floral hops. A very solid saison aroma.

Taste: Like the smell hints at, a yeasty, fruity, and spicy Belgian style taste with notes of fruit esters and spice. Upfront Belgian yeast with notes of farmhouse funk, peppers, and clove. Fruit notes of apple, pear, banana, and white grape along with some citrus notes of orange and lemon. Slight bubblegum as well. Pale malt with notes of wheat, grains, straw, and cracker. Also some subtle background notes of floral hops. A pretty good Belgian taste.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a fairly high level of carbonation. Fairly prickly and smooth. Finishes dry.

Overall: A pretty solid lighter take on a Saison/Farmhouse Ale. Good mix of fruity and spicy notes.

Not a super fresh bottle, but not "cellared"
The beer pours a slightly dull golden yellow topped by a loose, wispy white head with no lacing or sediment. The nose is a mix of honey-like malt sweetness, some bubble gummy yeast, and a slight peppercorn spice. The taste is also slightly spicy with a clean yeast presence and grain/biscuity sweetness, but has minimal bitterness or distinct peppercorn. It's light-medium bodied, filtered, clean & drinkable, well-carbonated, with characteristic omme house yeast upfront that doesn't quite transition into the anticipated spicy, bitter peppercorn finish. This is not an ommegang highlight for me (prefer their dry-hopped variants), but isn't unpleasant.

A- it pours a hazy golden color with lots of visible carbonation. Fluffy, coarse white head. Great retention, well defined rings of lacing.

S- pepper, wet hay, funky yeast, tangerine, spicy hops.

T- tangerine up front. There is a nice black pepper note throughout the midpalate. Not much in the way of hops. The finish has that nice saison funk with a slightly sour note.

M- light. Lots of prickly carbonation.

O- really good for an American-made saison.
