Pours out a bright gold with a huge, rocky, fluffy head. Lots of rapidly rising bubbles. Nose is spicy, fruity, grainy, malty, bready. Flavors of yeasty bread, honey, herbs (mint), spice, fruit. Very dry and mildly tart. Body is light and effervescent. This is an excellent saison. If you'd told me it was from Dupont, I'd believe you (and at half the price)!

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Tulip.
Appearance: Hazy gold-orange with billowing white head. Now I need to wait to drink...
Smell: Lemon, orange peel, peach, pepper, clove and light banana.
Taste: Wheat malts with a strong emphasis on lemon and orange peel. Light peach and banana backbone. Finish has pepper and clove and is lightly tart.
Feel: Light bodied and effervescent. Crisp and dry. Very nice.
Overall: This a very light Saison that is somewhat Witbier-like. Certainly more subtle than other Ommegang beers I have had, but this is so crisp and refreshing (and wonderfully tart) that I don't care too much.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Duvel tulip glass.
Appearance: Pours a very hazy golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Huge four finger white head that slowly fades into a thin patchy layer. Leaves a good amount of lacing.
Smell: A fruity, spicy, and yeasty Belgian style aroma with good hints of fruit esters. Belgian yeast with hints of peppers, farmhouse funk, and clove. Fruit hints of banana, pear, apple, white grape, and citrus orange and lemon. Pale malt with hints of wheat, straw, grains, and cracker. Subtle hints of earthy and floral hops. A very solid saison aroma.
Taste: Like the smell hints at, a yeasty, fruity, and spicy Belgian style taste with notes of fruit esters and spice. Upfront Belgian yeast with notes of farmhouse funk, peppers, and clove. Fruit notes of apple, pear, banana, and white grape along with some citrus notes of orange and lemon. Slight bubblegum as well. Pale malt with notes of wheat, grains, straw, and cracker. Also some subtle background notes of floral hops. A pretty good Belgian taste.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a fairly high level of carbonation. Fairly prickly and smooth. Finishes dry.
Overall: A pretty solid lighter take on a Saison/Farmhouse Ale. Good mix of fruity and spicy notes.

Bright golden body with a slight haze about it, brilliant white head with chunks of sporadic lacing. Aroma clean yeast esters, biscuit malt, hints of citrus peel real full on orange aromatic household cleaner, not picking up the pepper on the nose but I bet it shows on the palate. Flavor is a bright orange flavor without the bitter peel slightly spice pepper, fruit is so nice pale biscuit malt with dry chalky yeast. A nice Belgian style beer sporting a lower alcohol by volume than most other Saisons/Belgian style ales. Mouthfeel is smooth effervescent enough biter and dryness from the orange peels, peppercorns, and yeast notes to keep each sip dry, carbonation is effervescent light to medium bodied. Overall a great new seasonal release from Ommegang really uses some finesse.
