Spicy, good looking , sorta sweet. Not bad, good. It great: update canned 8/23, purchased 11/23, best by 1/24, today 2/24…. From OM advent box pours golden semi clear with a rich froth head that retains. No smell, dry mild citrus, some piney, mild spice as this is OMG. Pretty neutered.

Pours a deep copper in color with a teeny white head that gave way to teeny lacing. Nose is slightly piney. Initial taste was off, like a buttery flavor that faded quickly and gave way to piney. No other buttery flavor was present after initial drink. Not sure what to make of that.

From a 16oz can dated best by 5/27/22 into a tulip.

Pours a murky copper color with about three fingers of off-white head. Decent retention, moderate lacing.

Smells of oranges, pineapple, grapefruit and some pine in the background.

Taste is more dominated by pine/resin. Juiciness is in the background. While flavorful, the taste isn't really anything special.

Sticky mouthfeel. Moderate carbonation. Decent body for a "smaller" IPA. Not a chore to drink but not easy drinking either.

So, while this isn't bad, it's really not all that special. Nice to see a more traditional IPA out there, but there's better ones available.

BB date : 1/21/26

Translucent medium orangey-gold, with 1 1/2 fingers of creamy off-white head, leaving a ring, thin sheet covering, & a few spots of lacing.

Smell is mixed citrus zest, light pine/dank/grass, slight spicy & floral aromas, with hints of slightly sweet biscuity malt.

Taste is lightly bitter orange rind, pine, grass, a hint of sweet, lightly caramelly malt , finishing with some floral/spicy flavor. Moderate bitterness overall. The spiciness and bitterness, backed by light sweetness, linger awhile after finish.

Feel is light-medium, with moderate very fine carbonation, that gives a noticeable, but not harsh, very pleasant bite at finish. Seems just right.

Overall , a nice, old-school type IPA but with the bonuses of slightly softer feel balanced with just-right carbonation bite, and a bit of extra noble-hop-type spiciness, that lift it above the usual. Nice break from NEIPAs , that makes them taste all the better. Something I'll welcome any time when I find it not-old.

Decanted from a 12 oz (355 ml) bottle into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint glass; best by 08/02/20.
A: Pours a somewhat hazy, dark golden color, with exuberant head formation, leaving a two to three finger, foamy, white head with nearly a finger of well organized retention and foamy, almost solid lacing.
S: Tart side of tangy. Very strong lemon, passion fruit, caramel and toast.
T: Semisweet. Flavor follow the nose with lemon citrus, passion fruit, caramel, and pine. Bitterness balanced and subtle, leaving a very clean ever so slightly bitter finish.
M: Medium bodied with strongly persistent effervescence. Impressively effervescent. Silky mouthfeel.
O: A truly delicious, light, slightly sweet, subtle and flavorful American IPA. Exceptional to my palate.

In my recent review of Knee Deep's Tahoe Deep, I mentioned that for me, as a self-described, self-avowed hophead, Nirvana is a CANned AIPA or ADIPA & bump CANada Dry & sitting in a fountain! I had queued this one up in the on-deck CANcle, but I think that its name must have subliminally registered since I have no idea of how Nirvana otherwise came to mind. Hmm.

From the CAN: "India Pale Ale"; "Serve at 40 F/5 C"; "To Seek The Divine"; "If you're looking for righteous truth, this smooth IPA is your friend."; "It's a journey of faith, led by a multitude of fine hops, towards a sinful, enlightening end."; "First, we richly kettle brew, then deeply dry hop too. Coaxing each fragrant note to play right. For the path to perfection, is time plus direction, plus a Brewmaster's search for the light."; "In our Nirvana IPA, you'll find pure Hops Heaven. With a juicy citrus and hops profile that is aromatic and harmoniously balanced to reveal new realms of flavor."

I was CANxious to Crack! this one open since I just finished an ADIPA from Knee Deep & while my hops jones was satiated, I wanted to CANtinue drinking beer.

I recently awoke, following a 10.5-hour shift at the Post Office & I am refreshed, but sore. What better time to indulge in a beer?

Following the Crack!, I went with a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. This resulted in the formation of just better than a finger of dense, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head with very good retention, leaving a load of lacing in its wake. Color was a beautiful Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) & while I was CANtemplating this liquid sunshine in my glass, I was beset upon by The Gelt Gang of Midas, Croesus & Mammon, all CANxious for a taste. 8=O Nose had a pronounced peach/orange/ CANgerine quality & now, my mouth was watering yet again. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste had a sweet fruitiness that I might not have liked as much, were it not the follow-up to a really bitter ADIPA. This acted like a CANterbalance to that one & kind of reset my palate as a result. It was very peachy at the start, slowly going over to a light citrusiness, not of grapefruit, but of orange/CANgerine. Mmm. It was actually quite mellow, not as intensely mellow as some that reminded me of hops tea, but on the approach. Finish was likewise semi-dry & entirely mellow. This was one easy-drinking AIPA, which seems to be exactly what they were shooting for, given the Notes. I CAN see more of these in my Summer future. Mmm. YMMV.

Can.
Pours a clear, pale amber. Nice froth. Aroma is like stepping into a time machine and going back ten years. Pretty sturdy hop bill that is mostly comprised of tried and true components.
*Scrolls down to see if hops are listed.
Yep! Like ten years ago, lots of Simcoe & Centennial but with a kick of the newer hops that dominated in the ‘10’s. Flavor is coarse, bitter, citrusy, grassy, and just a bit of tropicality (quite mild). Balance that bite out with a pretty stable/straightforward maltiness. Bitter and clean, unlike IPAs now. This was nice to be able to crush an IPA that exudes the flavors that got me to love the style a decade ago. A humble beer, a nouveau throwback beer.
