Bold carbonation caps a dingy straw-colored brew. Exactly what I want to see in a witbier. Carbonation holds well after opening the big old bomber from which this was poured. It's still well carbonated over an hour later.
A mild aroma includes hints of lemon, a very light dose of banana and some spices. It's hard for me to separate or determine the spices. Maybe cardamom??? Who knows.
Sweetness from wheat and pale malts up front. Somewhat tart in the middle, with a light belgian yeast character that caps a dry finish.
IMO, this is the best witbier from a U.S. brewer that I've tried, and it holds its own against its Belgian brothers. With just enough complexity to keep it interesting, it's still a lightly refreshing and easy drinking beer. I think I might just go back to the liquor store where I found it and buy-out their entire inventory.

Slightly hazy yellow color with a flashy carbonation and a thick two fingers head with great retention and leaving a wall of laces.
Light but nice aroma of white bread, orange, distant banana and coriander.
Predominant Belgian yeasty flavor with notes of fresh acid oranges, white bread and a lemony tartness. Dry and acid aftertaste.
Light to medium body with good carbonation and an acid feeling.
I love Ommegang, but I haven't seen on this Wit much of a difference to a Hoegaarden (ps. I haven't tasted it for a while), it is fairly assertive, nevertheless if the intention was to produce a pleasant refreshing session beer that is not not dull, mission accomplished.
