General: Got this as a big bottle with a cork from a local beer store. Poured this into a chalice glass with a friend for the tasting.
Appearance: light brown or dark tan head that has a combo of big and little bubbles. Color of the beer is dark dark black, very nice color. The appearance is spot on for a stout.
Aroma: Nice chocolate note to this but not as pronounced as I would think. There are a lot of strange fruit notes coming through on this from the yeast that was used. Some alcoholic phenol aroma involved also but it is very mild.
Mouthfeel: This is acceptable to style, a little on the thinner side of moderate but still OK. There is a slight astringency, not too bad but still noticeable.
Taste: There is a nice hit of chocolate in the aftertaste but in the beginning there isn't that much involved. There is also a very nice roastiness to this. Not the big chocolate hit that I would expect from this, kind of disappointing.
Overall: This is OK, I don't think that I will go after it again. It is a touch thin for my taste in a stout. Also with the name chocolate indulgence I expect a lot more chocolate flavor and aroma. I don't think that I'm going to be buying this one again.

Undated bottle at 50 degrees into snifter
Aroma of chocolate
Head large (7 cm), light brown, creamy, slowly diminishing to 2 mm layer
Lacing good – reticulum covering most of glass, bubbles varying in size
Body dark brown, opaque
Flavor begins with chocolate and slight alcohol flavor; no hops, no diacetyl.
Palate medium, creamy, soft carbonation
This is an excellent chocolate stout, of which I usually keep a couple bottles around. The appearance is very appealing – large, creamy head and good lacing atop a deliciously dark brew, topped by the alluring aroma of chocolate. The flavor is chocolaty and delicious, with only the slight taste of alcohol detracting from the pleasure. Overall, a very exquisite brew.
