Saw this beer and knew that it must be mine. However, I knew that only a special occasion would bring this corked bottle with imported glass from France out from hiding: mole day (although technically the day after).
Dark, impenetrable to photons of light. Much more of a head forms, most likely due to bottle conditioning. You could easily give yourself a stout-bubble mustache. I always love a bottle with a cork in it knowing that whatever is inside will suit my desires. Slightly warmed and the bubbles are in full effect.
Light and subtle stout. There isn't heavy black coffee or hops coming through, but a recognizable cocoa does make an appearance. However, i would say that coffee and cream/creamer does come through much more heavily in the smell than its follow-through in taste.
A well made stout, I enjoy the subtleties this beer has to offer. There is presence of chocolate, caramel stoutiness as well as other dark aromatics that make this beer wonderful. I have only been disappointed once with Ommegang, but this is no exception to a standard of well made ales. No off flavors or funkiness is detected, just balanced smoothness. Very rich and hearty, typical stout attributes.
Smooth flavor with chocolaty richness. They made a bold stout and I am indulging myself accordingly. Reminds me of tasty black coffee with room for cream and cream added until light brown dilution achieved. I like the excess carbonation; it's not typical to the style, but gives it extra creaminess.
I enjoyed drinking this beer for the most part. It does stain white bed covers well, but that's only when you stop aiming for your mouth...
First impressions were good and it finished strong. There is cocoa at the end of every gulp and I appreciate the added complexity the chocolate gives.

Appearance: deep dark brown-red. Nice plush tan head on the pour.
Smell: bright Belgian characteristics are up front. Darker chocolate notes in the background. Maybe that will change as it warms.
Taste: much like the nose, though the chocolate and Belgian notes are more evenly balanced.
Overall: good beer, not great.

Stout? It is not a stout. Does not appear to be a stout. Does not smell like a stout. Feels okay enough to be a stout. Something is missing though... Oh right. The chocolate and stout part of the Chocolate Indulgence Stout. Only indulging in really okay non-stout
