Chocolate Indulgence has a nose that nicely matches up with the title, being full of chocolate aromas, both milk and dark, and smelling much like an expensive cup of hot cocoa. Added to this are notes of freshly-baked spent grain bread and caramel.
On the tongue, the first notes are not those of chocolate, but thick, dark malts, with heavy overtones of ash, tobacco, anise, and coffee grounds, and these flavors remain throughout the mouthful. Dark fruit esters--raisin, some fig--circle overhead, joined by molasses. Surprisingly (considering the nose), chocolate is third or even fourth on the list of flavors, and mostly makes itself known toward the end of the mouthful, after a few of the sugars have worn off, as well as bringing a slight cocoa tinge to the aftertaste--i.e. for those expecting a chocolate blast a la Southern Tier's Choklat, you will be disappointed. I do suspect, however, that the chocolate is helping--rather surreptitiously, perhaps--temper what seems to be a beautifully over-healthy portion of chocolate and/or black malts. The aftertaste is mainly charred grains, as well as the aforementioned subtle hint of dark chocolate, and fades slowly. Mouthfeel is medium-light, and carbonation is medium-high.
Overall, while I was surprised at how little chocolate flavor was in a beer named Chocolate Indulgence, I do think the beer is quite good, and worth a try. But again, if you buy a bottle, start off thinking not "chocolate," but "black stout," and you'll be on a better track towards a favorable first impression.

Appearance: deep dark brown-red. Nice plush tan head on the pour.
Smell: bright Belgian characteristics are up front. Darker chocolate notes in the background. Maybe that will change as it warms.
Taste: much like the nose, though the chocolate and Belgian notes are more evenly balanced.
Overall: good beer, not great.

Stout? It is not a stout. Does not appear to be a stout. Does not smell like a stout. Feels okay enough to be a stout. Something is missing though... Oh right. The chocolate and stout part of the Chocolate Indulgence Stout. Only indulging in really okay non-stout
