750ml bottle poured into an Ommegang tulip.
Black with subtle highlights of red shining through towards the bottom of the glass. 2-3 fingers of tan head. Good retention and some nice thick ringlets of lacing.
Dark roast coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, caramel and vanilla.
Follows the nose to a tee. The coffee notes are much more prominent. Dark roast coffee, a touch of espresso, semi-sweet chocolate, caramel and pale candy sugar. Light essences or dark fruit, perhaps figs and dates. Finishes with a hint of vanilla and earth.
Light bodied, crisp and clean. Slight bitterness.
Very easy drinking and tasty. Rather short on the chocolate and more coffee forward. Mouthfeel is a bit thin but I guess that comes with the territory of being a Belgian style Stout.

Appearance: deep dark brown-red. Nice plush tan head on the pour.
Smell: bright Belgian characteristics are up front. Darker chocolate notes in the background. Maybe that will change as it warms.
Taste: much like the nose, though the chocolate and Belgian notes are more evenly balanced.
Overall: good beer, not great.

Stout? It is not a stout. Does not appear to be a stout. Does not smell like a stout. Feels okay enough to be a stout. Something is missing though... Oh right. The chocolate and stout part of the Chocolate Indulgence Stout. Only indulging in really okay non-stout
