Reviewed with wheatman106 on 8/14/09,
Appearance: Reddish amber and clear.
Smell: Sour fermented raspberries.
Taste: Opens intensely tangy. There are flavors of sour berries and unripened orange from the middle to the end, leaving a tangy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with minimal carbonation but it makes you pucker.
Drinkability: Rather low, I couldn't finish this beer because of the intense flavors and puckering effect of the beer.
Serving type: on-tap

2008 vintage. On tap at Kickbacks in Jax. Poured into a snifter. White head, low retention on a clear mahogany body. Aroma jumps out of the glass and includes tart cherry, tart green apple, slight malt sweetness, some port. Taste follows closely with the aromas and is maybe the most mouth puckeringly tart beer I've ever head. Quite satisfying and very delicious. Wow.

Served in an Ommegang Rouge tulip; thanks to yourefragile for the glassware. Pours a nice reddish-caramel color with a good short off-white head and not much in the way of lacing. Nose carries slight cherry with a bit of bread and acidity through the background. Flavor has a nice bit of cherry and light malt. Medium body with moderate acidity. Nice take on the style.

Shared by one of the guys, can't remember. Thanks!
The beer appears a pretty ruby hue with a soft head that leaves sparse lacing in its wake. The aroma brings cherries, cider, oak, vinegar. Smells great. The taste delivers as well. I've been anxious to try this beer for quite some time and it does not disappoint. Acetic and tart, yet highly drinkable. Potent aroma and a bold flavor. Light to medium in body with a zesty finish. A strong example of the style. I would most definitely have this again.
