Glass - Tulip
A - Huge head as expected. The beer looks hazy with a straw & copper color. Lots and lots of tiny C02 bubbles can be seen. The lacing was spotty and not great.
S - I get floral, orange, mango and slightly spicy hop characteristics. The hops merge beautifully with the banana, bubble gum, and soft clove like notes from the yeast. It smells amazing and reminds me of summer.
T - Very bready and doughy upfront with a slight bit of a sour bread like thing going on. Spicy and floral like hop characteristics come through toward the finish. Soft banana and clove are crushed by the hop character. Moderate sweetness with lots of lingering hop flavors and a pronounced bitterness for the style.
M - Airy, soft-medium bodied, smooth and moderate-high carbonation.
O - While the taste wasn't exactly what I was hopping for, the aroma blew me away, and I really did enjoy this beer overall. I picked up a corked bottle for about $6, and it was definitely worth every penny. So from me to you, give it a shot if you like Belgian Pale Ale's!
