12 oz bottle, poured into a tulip! Huge, fluffy off-white head, decent to good retention. A somewhat cloudy, golden orange body. You can see some tiny yeast particles floating around, alongside rising bubbles.
The smell is piney, with some clementine, and a decent bit of funky yeast. It's a bit spicy, like a hopped up farmhouse saison.
Pine and tangerine citrus come together at the front of the taste, then a hint of pineapple sneaks in, with lively yeast funk bringing up the rear. The mouthfeel is well carbonated, even a bit fluffy, like you may find in a saison. Crisp and refreshing, semi-dry finish. It's decently hop forward, but remains well balanced.
A decent take on the Belgian Pale Ale style from Ommegang. It's nothing to write home about, but I'd put it up against just about any BPA out there.
