Poured from a corked & caged 750 mL bottle into a Brewer's Art goblet. Moderate hand. Don't recall the date, but recent release.

A: Hazy, light honey-colored body with 1.5 fingers of clean, slightly rocky, white head. Good retention. Nice lacing.

S: Very fruit-forward yeast with elements of banana, apple, pineapple, other tropical fruit. Typical Ommegang yeasty spice. Coriander. Faint floral hops.

T: Spice and fruit open with less sweetness than expected. Vanilla and banana. Hop presence brings a mild bitterness that is perhaps a bit more than average for the style. Fairly dry finish. Mild alcohol presence. A bit of astringent bitterness lingers in the aftertaste.

M: Moderate carbonation with a medium body. Compared to your average Belgian tripel, the carbonation is slightly less and the body is slightly fuller.

O: Not quite as complex as a top tier tripel, but very respectable outing for a stateside brewery. On par with the majority of Ommegang's stuff.

Prost!

L: Pours a beautiful tripel gold with 3 finger thick white head

S: It has that "tripel yeast smell" I'm looking for

T: Great tripel taste up front; hidden alcohol; warm

F: Light, dry

O: Great tripel from one of my favorites - Ommegang

Pear, honeysuckle, and green apple dominate the aroma.

Flavor is more green apple dominant initially, with pear skin carrying into the finish. Slightly sweet, but finishes dry. Banana surfaces late.

A decent beer, but fairly pedestrian, compared to a fin du monde, for example.
