Able to get this in a bottle and on draft from Butch's Dry Dock in Holland, Michigan. I loved the bottle, but for the record, I will be reviewing the draft.
Poured into a snifter glass, white frothy head sits atop a golden orange haze. Beautiful color.
Wheat goodness on the nose. Some small hints of citrus and maybe even strawberries? Definitely some belgian yeast aroma in there. Nothing overwhelms. Total harmony.
First of all....this is very refreshing. I can hardly believe the 9.5%, but you get all kinds of smooth flavors. Hay, straw, orange, grapefruit, wheat, touch of bubblegum, and more smoothness.
Easy to drink, easy to drink and easy to drink.
I don't want to fall into hyperbole and say this is the best ever, but it is one hell of a collabo between two awesome breweries. Get your hands on this if you can.

My choice for the Super Bowl. Pours a hazy straw gold color into my Augustijn goblet from a corked and caged 750 ml bottle.. Good size delicate bubbly white head with better than average head retention. A little lacing on the glass.
Great Belgian yeast aroma. Taste is Belgian yeast, a little lemon zest, and some black pepper. Very tasty and light for a beer with fairly high abv.
Mouthfeel is rich and smooth. Somewhat tart and spicy as well. Not much indication of the high abv. Very inviting.
An outstanding Belgian Strong Pale Ale.

This is a quality strong ale. My staple is Ommegang's Hennepin, which sets the bar high for Saisons along with Dupont, but when i want something stronger this is where I land. If you're a fan of Victory's Golden Monkey, also a very good beer, you'll like this...smoother than GM.
