750mL corked bottle, poured into an Ommegang tulip glass...
A: Dark brown / near black with a thick, creamy, 3-finger head of lively foam; dies down, but the retention leaves some sticky webs of lace on the glass.
S: Chocolate; light roasty notes; some earthy aromas, too.
T: Dark chocolate; very characteristic porter tastes provides the foundation; a touch tart on the finish (cherries, I presume). I slightly more complex taste than your average porter, for sure.
M: Full bodied; high, lively carbonation. Leaves some stickiness on the palate.
O: An interesting beer; definitely a good dessert beer. A lot of interesting nuances in the taste. A nice change of pace. I'd have it again -
