On-tap at Prime 16 in New Haven, CT. Served in a pint glass:
The beer gave off a yellow, hazy, yeast color with white head that just stood up. Upon first smelling the beer, I thought that it was a combo Belgian and Hefe...it had that sweetness you would expect from the Belgian, but with a banana, pepper and clove and a hint of citrus. The taste followed the nose really well and I really enjoyed the taste. Perhaps combining two of my favorite styles. The beer had a lighter feel than expected, but this did not detract from the beer as it still had a nice smooth, almost creamy feel. It had a clean, dry finish. Overall, another stellar beer from one of the best in the land.

Another great, strong selection from Ommegang. This one is very unique and flavorful and quite surprising. Poured from a bottle into an English pub glass.
A: A thick, cloudy opaque gold with hints of brown in the depth of the beer. A lovely two inch head that stays on the top of the beer, with a large amount of lacing.
S: Crisp and fresh and full of hops, loaded with citrus tones of grapefruit, lemon and lime and a rosey nose. A very fresh and complex aroma - this beer's best feature.
T: First impression is a very hoppy beer with a load of fresh flavor backed up by a nice light toasted malt body and slightly above average sweetness. Lots of citrus overtones. Some peppery finish and a nice hoppy bitterness at the end. Very nice beer, hoppy and heavy on the ABV but easy to drink.
M: Smooth and crisp, lots of carbonation and very breezy despite its somewhat high O.G.
O: A very good beer; my third enjoyable beer from Ommegang. This beer is a wonderful example of how an ale can be full of big hop flavors. Lots of well balanced citrus and sweetness and a nice light toasted malt feel back this one up. A beautiful, easy to drink beer with no glaring faults.

This pours a gold straw with a thick cap of foam.
I get an estery defined grassiness along with some drying straw aroma.
It's hoppy and floral with a peppery kick to it.
Great effervescence gives this a light touch on the palate and a crisp finish.
I found it real enjoyable.
