Poured from tap into pint at the lumberyard in Georgetown ct. Nice slightly cloudy golden color pour with a finger of head. Nice floral hoppy mixed with spicy peppery saison aroma. Similar taste...floral hops, a bit of fruitiness, and spicy saison yeast...really well balanced. Nice maltiness and perfect mouthfeel. Really a hoppy saison to me and its really nice.

12oz bottle poured into Wicked Weed tulip glass.

A-Golden honey body with a nice turbid haze to it. Poured a huge bubbly white head that receded to the beer head and left nice lacing streaks around the perimeter of the glass.

S-Very floral nose with citrus zest notes. The yeast gives very nice and appropriate phenolic characterists of clove with a mild spiciness.

T-The flavor is dominated by the yeast but the hops and malt tone it down a bit to find a nice balance between the three. Spice notes are throughout the palate. Herbal pine and citrus notes come in the middle and the end of the tasting. Has nice balance at the finish with the spiciness from the yeast and the hop notes complementing one another nicely.

M-Medium/full bodied beer. Very effervescent on the tongue. Finishes on the dry side.

O-A very enjoyable and highly drinkable BPA from Ommegang. Its one of those beers I could enjoy drinking outside all day. I highly recommend it!

Review taken in early June 2013. I actually enjoyed the last couple in the opening matches of the Confederations Cup 2013.

12 oz brown bottle with lovely Ommegang style artwork. Bright golden yellow with a green font. Reminds me of the early summer time heat. Poured into a glass similar to the one recommended on the label. I call it an English or Belgian in this case port glass. Stemmed port glass.

A - glowing golden yellow or even a lemon yellow colored body that was a touch hazy. Fluffy white head had some frothiness and sort of creamy on top. Head lasted a while and the lace provided some slow moving stickiness on the glass. The body just glows and glows. Very beautiful looking body.

S - pale malt and a unique Belgian like ommegang yeast. Aroma is bright and floral with some lemon. Almost flowery. Some nice spices in those back end of the nose.

T - flowery and floral hop notes all over. Slightly fruity with Touches of bright lemon and zest with a pretty good yeast flavor. A clean yeast taste. Pale like malt make up the backbone but come off a bit dull compared to the flowery hops. Some summer spices with some bitterness to the finish.

M - a pretty refreshing mouthfeel overall but may be a touch thin for some. Texture is pretty close to being on par with a lot of American made saison/farmhouse ales. Overall the feel is exactly what you want on a hot and humid summer evening. Clean and refreshing.

O - I really enjoy Ommegang brews. This summer offering is a well craft Belgian pale ale and one warm weather fans could add to their arsenal of summer style ales. I'm not sure id drink this over Hennepin, but it is a very good ale given its characteristics and style format. Definitely something a bit different and hits the phrase summer ale on the head. If you like the literally flowery hopped brew then this is for you. It's bright and beautiful and every drink reminds you of bright floral occasions summer time has to offer. Nice clean brew.

Bought a four-pack of Ommegang Fleur de Houblon at the liquor store in Kimbark plaza, Hyde Park, Chicago. They had some craft beer sale and everything was available for cut-rate prices, so I scored this pack for only $6. Nice! 12 oz. brown bottle into my Beer Geek Nation tulip.

Appearance (4.25/5): Beautiful cloudy yellow color, towering four-finger head with super-tight bubbling. Head recedes a little slowly, shimmering as it goes down.

Smell (4/5): Very grassy in the aroma, with a slight cracker-like malt, lemon, peppery spice from the yeast. Extremely fresh smell to it that really works well for the warm weather, especially.

Taste (4.25/5): Taste follows the smell. A little grassy hop bitterness at the front, transitioning into yeasty notes of bubblegum, coriander, clove, and pepper in the middle, before finishes with a nice lightly bitter hoppy finish. More complex than what I was expecting, very pleasant, no alcohol in the flavor. Some cracker-like, biscuity malt in there, but this is a hop-forward beer.

Mouthfeel (4.25/5): Light body, vigorous carbonation that really plays well with the hoppy flavor profile.

Overall (4.25/5): This beer is somewhere between Hefeweizen and hoppy saison. Excellent, extremely drinkable beer that I wouldn't mind having in the winter. I'm very impressed at what Ommegang has done here. They have really struck a wonderful balance between flavors (hoppy, yeasty, wheaty), strength, and body. Wow! A pleasant early summer surprise!

Clear straw colour. Small white head. Fair head retention.

Lovely balance of citrus and spice. Classic said on aromas with some earthiness too.

Big bold phenol notes. Decent bitterness. Light on the citrus. Crisp and clean.

Medium body with moderate carbonation. Good.

A really solid Belgian Pale. Nicely hoppy too. Really enjoyable.
