A: faintly red, a shade above black; scant light-brown head, quickly fading; no lacing
S: roasted barley, metallic; a faint inviting body reminiscent of fresh icy milk; faint musk
T: bitter, dark roast, faintly coffee/chocolate/wood, a hint of anise and raspberry
M: biting, dry, a little thinner than I prefer a stout, but then, it's a dark ale
O: High enough abv to be relatively potent, but well disguised by the bitters and roast. Even sessionable with the right mindset, and might pair well with quality hamburgers or rich meats for which this would be refreshing and neutralizing.

Pours black as a White Walkers soul with a very huge head...I had to slow down my pour to make sure i didnt over do it.Slight lacing and retention...so far so good.Smell is licorice and malt.First taste is not what I was expecting but maybe because of the Ommegang style I expected the siginiture taste of the Belgian style. This is NOT a chocolate bomb stout for sure.It does seem to melt in the mouth a bit but not a thick aftertaste.Do not let the name fool you. This is not a Russian Imperial Stout. This is much lighter and at first I was let down but after my first glass I get what they were trying to pull off here. Not bad at all. 3.5 out of 5 stars.
