Did a quick lap around the store, seeing wine aisles ahead from the door past the checkout, but this apparently was a diversion tactic. Take a hard left before the checkout into aisle 9, the beer is all chilled on the left hand side. A few quality imports in the far left corner, a long stretch of BMC macros (over half the total space) and craft in the right corner. I counted about 50 individual craft options. There was also a small display rack that held more warm craft options.

There was Two Bros., Goose, Rogue, Flying Dog, Magic Hat, and a few others. Fairly varied with a few bombers and 750s, but far from a comprehensive selection. Worth a look if you're aready here getting groceries, but not a destination. Whole Foods certainly has this place beat, but it's still a step up from the selection at Jewel & Dominicks.

Didn't buy anything, but I got a friendly hello from the liquor department guy sequestered behind a little desk.

2013:
Sadly closed due to influx of big box stores.

this supermarket is not much of a stop for beer. expect your usual offerings with a couple mix-packs here and there, and the normal go-to styles for sporting events and get-togethers.

the quality is decent, with a solid turn-around on macros and more popular imports (guinness, becks, etc.), but the bombers and micro brew selection, which is slim, does not seem to move quickly enough to keep them fresh.

expect a normal grocery store selection here: the standard Sierra Nevadas, a few Rogue bottles, and some others will be as micro as one will get, all among a macro-centric beer aisle. some Sam Adams mix packs are a decent reason to come by here on occasion, but this should not be a recurring stop for beer geeks. prices are normal for a grocery store.

I want to make it perfectly clear to people, that I normally do NOT review other beer retailers. Considering my current occupation, it wouldn't be right. Except for this place. People who may live or end up living close to this place, should know about it.

There are times when I simply don't feel like driving all the way back to our store, from my girlfriend's place, to get beer. So, when in a pinch, I go to Lincoln Park Supermarket. You aren't going to get a lot of attention. You aren't going to get a great selection. But you are going to get mind-blowing experience when you walk into a SUPERMARKET and find this kind of selection.

You'll find Three Floyd's, Victory, Two Brothers, some Rogue, Allagash, Samuel Smith's, etc. It really is shocking to find this much thought has gone into a supermarket beer selection, considering this is Chicago.

I really enjoy living across the street from this place. When you walk in, it's just another grocery store. There is one aisle dedicated to beer. It's a very surprising find for a grocery store. At the front, you quickly notice Victory HopDevil, Prima Pils, Three Floyds Pale Ale, Robert the Bruce, Mild Ale, and various products from Breckenridge, Arcadia, Saxer, Two Brothers, etc. Lots of swill deals are there as well...for the times when you're broke. A decent import section is towards the back of the aisle, as well as some good singles such as Rogue Dead Guy, Allagash White, Chimay, and Sam Smith's Nut Brown and Oatmeal.

It's the best selection I've ever seen in a supermarket. I'm used to the usual junk that they have at Jewel and Dominick's. Seek this place out if you're in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.
