The folks in this store are helpful enough. The "beer" guy had no idea what Utopias was. I was told this locatiuon didn't actually get utopias or hadn't for a few years. The prices are usually solid. selection is solid but seems to be slow on new arrivals in the area. A few weeks into San Diego distribution of Chocolate Yeti these guys had never heard of it. You can get some rare beers held for you. the parking is a bit janky. It is close enough to the freeway to not be out of the way. It is really close to the mall and the chain resaturates to stop by when you are in the area. over all a decent Bevmo.

I normally like to review the "out of the way places" that not many people know about. If you're looking for the rare beer selections you may not find what you're searching for but quantity and service definitely stand out. This place always reminds me of a borders or barnes and noble because you go in looking for one specific thing and you end up walking around and gawking at everything else the store has to offer for hours. I respect that they carry the core essentials that many breweries have to offer. The one thing that I really like about Bevmo is they pay attention to dates. Since most people already know about Bevmo, they tend to actually "move" beer. Many unknown places have beer sitting on the shelf for years without any attention to detail like dust on the bottles and the date it was bottled.

i used to shop here a ton when i worked in la mesa, but i find myself shopping there less and less these days. even though the place is huge, i cant remember the last time i needed a basket to haul my findings to the cashier. i used to think the bevmo in mission valley was a joke, but they have a nicer selection in their limited space currently. i know bevmo is the k mart of liquor stores, but no one really seems to know anything about beer there. i'll stick to the independent bottle shops in east county.

One of the bigger BevMo's in San Diego. Huge selection of beer, lots of micros and Euros. Seem to have the biggest selection of Marin and Moylan's in San Diego. Big selection of Young's. Large selection of cheeses, crackers, cigars. Regular beer tasings, but it competes with wine tastings. Rarely do they have things that you can't buy at the other stores. Staff is okay, most are "busy" doing other things. Drive a couple more miles and hit Beverages 4 Less if you're looking for the hard-to-find stuff.

Best place in East SD county to shop for beer. This store features a great selection of domestic and imported beers (and its the closest to my house of all the SD stores, I can get there on surface streets!). I routinely find great buys at great prices -- Lagunitas Kill Ugly Radio for 2.99 a bomber. All the Alesmith prods are usually present too.
The staff really does not know beer, which is just as well since mostly they avoid any customer contact (knid of reminds me of the staff at Home Depot). The first time anyone is likely to speak to you is when you check out. The beer shopper here had better be self-sufficient.

Very good selection of US craft brews, and import beers. There's a lot of craft beers here that I'm not familiar with and should probably try sometime. But I seem to spend most of my time in the import aisle. They've got a good selection of German and English ales, a number of Trappists, and I think all of the Unibroue beers. Though they seem to be quite a bit lacking as far as non-Trappist Belgian beers go, and French beers too.

US beers seem to be a tad bit cheaper than elsewhere, but not much. Imports have better prices than you can usually find. The people who work there are quite nice, but it seems like most of them don't know anything about the beers beyond what's listed on the shelf description. And they seem to get confused if you ask if they carry something and they've never heard of it.

Finally found this BevMo! location. It was a little difficult to find, maybe I'm a retard.

I like the layout of the store, very open and spacious. Booze on the right, wine on the left and the beer, on the left in the back of the store. Down the center of the store the usual on sale end caps are visable. However this loaction looked like a deli, offering cheese, snacks, free samples of chips and salsa. There is even a cigar section to you immediate left as you enter the store. The back wall is lined with all sorts of glassware.

Back to the beer, what this store lacks in total beer volume it makes up in bomber selection, def the best bomber selection I've seen anyware.

It was early on a Monday so the place was empty except for raging alcoholics like myself haha! I happened to be wearing one of my many beer t-shirts and an employee pointed out a beer I might like as I was browsing the selection he wasn't pushy or snobish but very helpful.

Cool place, good, great service. I'll be shopping here more often now that I know how to get there.

Cheers!

This warehouse set up is quite big and spacious with lots of all kinds of liquor. The hard stuff is prominent, then wines, and of course, beer. Just head towards the back left and you'll soon see the aisles with the good beer stuff. Which is well stocked, displayed by regions, countries, and packed closely together with respective breweries being kept close to one another. Nothing out of the norm for a good store.
Lots of single bomber choices to be had, no 12'er's though, with all the norm you'd find in SoCal. Stone, Alesmith, Bear Republic, Ballast Point, Hoptown, Lagunitas, and quite a few other brews showcased that are dotted along the west coast. Quite a few familiar Belgians and other imports are here in good supply as well. For an out-of-towner such as myself, the selection is stellar, just because most of the stuff here isn't available anywhere else but locally. So stock up.
They have some glassware as well from said brew points of local domination. Also cigars and fancy snacks like funky cheese and crackers can be found within the walls at BevMo. Pretty solid place. No doubt an easy place to pick up your beer goodies and perhaps other liquor related delectibles if need be.

BevMo is the place to stop for out-of-towners looking to stock up on California beers and West-Coast (Stone, Alesmith, Avery, etc.). And this is the best BevMo at which to stop, in terms of selection. The biggest problem here is that you can't mix six-packs, and all the 12 oz bottles are sold that way. So it's a bit hard to get a variety.

The staff are a bit better here than at the other locations, but you still generally have to ask around a bit to find "the beer guy."

Selection of imports leaves a lot to be desired (Usually just the "obvious" Belgians -- Chimay, Duvel, etc., but occasionally something more interesting).

If you're only going to hit one place in town for beer, this would be it.
