Finally tapped a fresh keg of this at work so I thought I'd give it a second chance. What a difference fresh makes for this beer! It looks totally different. It is a warm gold with a fat soda-ish head that is slow to go but eventually does. Smells of light bubblegum and lighter banana. Taste is totally different from the bottle I sampled. It is not watery, though it is light and has more of light bubllegum and banana flavor I picked up in the nose. Any twang in the way of citrus or cloves is masked by wheat astringincy.

Mouthfeel is light and lively but theres a fizziness issue here that hurts both mouthfeel and drinkability.

Poured from a bottle into a Harpoon UFO hefeweizen glass.

A: Straw colored, hazy body. Some trub comes out at the end of the pour, suspends into the beer for the duration. White head, bubbly and recedes fast, with no lace.

S: The yeastiness abounds with a bread character to the aroma. The phenolic aroma of clove spiciness are laced through the yeast aromas.

T: Bready tastes up front, spiciness in the middle. A very clean finish. Toasty finish.

M: Light feel with a medium level of carbonation. Very easy on the palate. Not particularly sweet or bitter, and not dry or oily. Balanced feel, easy to drink.

O: Super balanced beer in all ways. Not super complex, and at 4.4% ABV this is session material. This is easily a go-to if you are in a rush and don't have time to mull options. If you are saving a pal from the watery American lager style, this is a good starter as well. Overall, Boulevard has produced another hit!
