From older notes:
Very opaque, dark brown to black. Fine, thick, creamy head, lightly creamed coffee in color. High retention though I have seen much better, and plenty lacey. Dark roasty aromas, including cocoa and something akin to black olive, as well as semi-sweet with suggestions of molasses and dark fruit and booze. Palate favors smokey, almost metallic tartness in the balance, but earthen and tobacco-like hops and dark fruit and chocolate subtly mixed in. Tiniest amount of almost-licorice. Pretty consistent throughout. Cigar smoke, plum, and pepper retro-olfaction. Full-bodied, viscous, with creamy effervescence allowing for a tingly but smooth feel. Mild astringency and acidity. Excellent beer. About standard for the style in terms of a rating, but certainly distinct from many others. And I know for a fact it keeps well.

Pours a black color. 1/4 inch head of an off-tan color. Decent retention and slight lacing. Smells of sweet malt, roasted malt, oatmeal, slight alcohol, and a hint of wood. Fits the style of an Oatmeal Stout. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, oatmeal, hint of roasted malt, hint of alcohol, slight hop, chocolate, and a hint of wood/liquor. Overall, weak appearance, decent aroma, good complexity and body, but a little too much liquor/wood.

Good. A little like cola in its carbonation and sweetness.
Gets better as it warms up...
Nothing life changing, but a good drinkable beer.
