Pours pale golden yellow with a large fluffy white head that fades pretty rapidly, but lacing is fairly sticky.

Smells spicy/citrusy, perfume like. Flowers, lemon zest, with a good amount of Belgian yeastiness.

Lemon zest, spices rounded off with sweet bread malts in the taste. Finish is fairly dry. Not as spicy and citrusy as the Tank 7.

The mouthfeel is soapy, sparkly, and slick.

Nice and refreshing. After trying both this and Tank 7 fairly close together, I'll support Boulevard's decision to replace this with Tank 7. They're pretty similar, but Tank 7 seems more amped up.

Thanks, whartontallboy!

(Aged 4+ years)

Hazed, pretty, dark orange. Moderately-sized bone-white head. Lined, irregular lacing left down the glass. Very pretty saison. Nothing to complain about here.

Very standard, but exceptionally well done aroma for a saison. Dried grass and just a bit of lemon peel character combine nicely with grain and earth.

Moderate bitterness, dried grasses, some faded but present lemon and citrus notes, along with traditional, bready grains. It all comes together nicely. This is marvelously drinkable.

Medium bodied with near-high carbonation.

Fantastic. Excellent with food or on its own.

reviewed from notes taken awhile back, large chalice serving...

a: golden amber in color with a low, short lived white head

s: crisp light barley with a dose of sweeter, maybe caramel malt, a little herbal, a little spicy - pepper mostly, a little fruity, notes of honey and maybe sweet citrus, a decent sniff but nothing to make me think this will be any more than an average attempt at the style

m: carbonation on the medium-high end, body lighter but with sugary slickness at the end that's not exactly pleasant

t: crisp pale malts and a slight toasted sugar sweetness, caramel, hops bring a grassy flavor and a lightly crisp acid bite to the finish, some yeasty spice but nothing really distinct or pleasant - kind of metallic, some fruity esters

o: a little unrefined for the style, nothing off really, just generally plain and sweeter than I expect from the style, and not as nuanced
