Boulevard’s summer seasonal is our interpretation of a classic Belgian witbier. ZŌN (Flemish for “sun”) combines the subtle flavors of coriander and orange peel with other traditional ingredients to create a delightful, refreshing summertime brew.

ZÔN has a thick, white head and a murky white-yellow appearance, with no lacing. The aroma is of bubble gum, coriander, white wheat bread, and oranges. The flavor is similar, with low bitterness and spiciness. ZÔN has a medium body and a dry finish.

You know, nothing special going on here, but with a slice of orange, its my favorite summer thirst quencher.

Appearance: Pours a very hazy, pale yellow color with a peach-colored hue. A soft, white head. SRM of 7-8. (4.25)
Aroma: Light aromas of lemon citrus, grape, bubblegum, pear, and coriander/clove. Some coriander too. (3.75)
Flavor: Light and soft flavors of lemon, pear, orange peel, grape, lemon. Lots of fruit, but a light Belgian spices too. Finishes dry and crisp. (3.75)
Feel: Light and creamy body. Smooth on the tongue with a mild finishing sweetness. (4.00)
Compared to Farm Girl Saison 7/28/20: Pours a hazier color. A lighter and zestier flavor. Less Belgian spice and zest. A milder and crispier body. Winner: Zon
10/19/20: Pours a hazier color. More zest and spice. Less orange sweetness.
Overall: A nice and light witbier. The body is actually better than the flavor here. Great citrus spice and zest/peel. Nice and smooth body, but the flavor is sort of mild. A good representation of the style. The body is actually quite nice and I should buy this again. (Final Rating: 3.80)

Poured form a 12oz bottle: Pours a cloudy/hazy straw color about the same color as the label. It has a quickly vanishing, creamy white colored head that's foamy/bubbly and less than 1 finger. The aromas of wheat, bread, bananna, orange, and coriander, combine to make a beautiful smell which will lead your nose right into a tasty, zesty, peppery finish that's crisp, refreshing, and not overshadowed by coriander. With a sessionable Abv of 4.4% and a wheaty/bready/orange juice taste ZoN Belgian Witbier (in my opinion) is a great beer to enjoy during brunch, or a hot day in the sun.

Pours light hazy lemon colored yellow with no head.
The aroma is citrus, a light graininess and a faint amount of spiciness.
The flavor is sweet bready malts, orange juice, coriander and a light tartness and peppery finish.
The mouthfeel is really light with lighter carbonation. Super refreshing.
Overall, I normally don't like the style, but the coriander wasn't over done in this beer which is the key thing I normally don't like in the style. Everything is well balanced, its not a super exciting beer, but I'm really enjoying it.
