Poured from bottle to a Boulevard Smokestack tulip. Best by 11/15/2011 stamped on bottle.
A: Clear, chestnut in color with a thick, white head that sticks around and leaves nice lacing. Beautiful color.
S: Toasted grain and malts, grassy hops, and a touch of caramel.
T: Caramel, toasted malt, light brown sugar, and a grassy hops finish, with a resinous hops aftertaste. A hint of apple cider in the middle as the brew warms. Bridges a full spectrum from malty to hoppy.
M: Medium-light bodied, a touch of creaminess, and a nice hops bite at the end. Finishes tart without a pucker factor.
O: One of my favorite Boulevard seasonals. Listed as a Vienna Lager here but marketed as a Marzen/Oktoberfest by the brewery. Either way, this is more hoppy than your basic Oktoberfest, and not as spiced as some of them are.
