Poured from bottle into Tulip
A: Pours a wonderful gold color with a medium haze and starts off with about a one finger head that diminishes down to a fine layer that remains throughout. Very generous lacing, leaving almost a full curtain of lace by the end of the glass.
S: The smell is very nice and upfront with fruit essences such as apples, grapefruit, grapes, and oranges. There is also some subtle hints of spices like nutmeg and also some earthy tones, almost like a rich soil. Exactly what a Brett should smell like to me.
T: The first thing I notice is the citrus/grapefruit taste, followed by apple and a faint "salad" flavor, that others have noted as grass. This all comes together to transport my mind to a breakfast table at Grandpa's farm.
M: The carbonation is a bit more pronounced than I have had with other Saison's, but isn't overbearing. The alcohol is a bit pronounced, but doesn't command your attention.
D: This is one of my favorite Saisons, but this is not a style that lends itself to an "everyday" beer. This is more of a good beer on a Saturday afternoon after you've been in the barn all morning restoring your classic car.

Delicious farmhouse funk without too much sweetness. Bitter enough to stand up to most fooods, but light enough to enjoy at any part of the meal. Would love to get my hands on a few bottles and age them. Deceptive ABV... Enjoying this at Dogwood Cafe in Jamaica Plain, MA before a Sox game.

Poured into a teku. 2013 vintage.
Still a decent amount of funk after a year of aging. Superbly creamy and medium full body. Nice touches of spice and a hint of sourness. Lots of yeasty, floral smells. Some dryness but not overly so. Smooth. Wonderful head. Just a superbly done craft beer.
