I'm not to experienced making this descriptive reviews but this is very good and this is one of Boulevard's best Smokestack brews. I think MbpBugeye's review was a perfect description:
"The beer has a massive head. Its hard to tame, you have to take your time pouring. It sticks around for a long time leaving thick chucks stuck to the glass. This beer is pretty dark for an IPA. Its a deep burnt orange. Its very hazy. Everything just looks "retro" like its in a sepia tone or something.
S- As soon as the beer left the bottle I was hit with waves of hops. The aromas that take flight across the room are very sweet and citrusy. It really beckoned me to get a closer sniff. Trying to get a whiff through this dense head is a bit tough but Im still picking up lots of pine cones and toasty malts. There must be lots of Summit here. Its giving off lots of that oniony, garlicy smell.
T- Really nice. Starts off loaded with pine resin then, as the beer moves through the mouth, lots of grapefruit pith comes out just before substantial toasted malts take up the rear. The finish is bitter, loaded with spicy hops and a touch of alcohol.
M- Super dry, pretty highly carbonated and medium bodied. It finishes pretty clean."
