A - beautiful golden, brilliant clarity, but lots of yeast chunks, giant billowy white head, not much for lacing
S - banana, mangoes, really interesting fruit notes, earthy pepper spice, mild perfumy alcohol,
T - real tasty malt upfront, lots of honey, fresh fruit, held in check by the alcohol and spice, hard to describe, but there is a lot of depth in the malt, just a hint of cracker, lots of pepper, but not overdone, pretty much serves the role of the hops, which are basically an afterthought
M - light body, good carbonation, the drying alcohol really soaks up the malty goodness in the finish, the alcohol is also fairly warming, which slightly works against itself.
D - really tasty stuff, another winner from the Smokestack series.
I've really been enjoying the Smokestack beers I picked up. All of them are relatively true to style, yet the put enough of a twist to make them their own. This one has a little something in the aroma, I'm thinking a dash of American hop, I'll check their website after this review. I usually don't care for overly peppery belgians (unless it's a really good saison), but this one is fantastic. What more is there to say? If you are into complex, challenging craft beer, you need to try this.

This is probably the best beer Boulevard makes. Their Belgian born brew master brings the right amount of tradition to the sometimes overly innovative American brew culture.
Appearance- Poured into a tulip glass with a stark white head, the beer is straw colored with a slight orange hue. Overall a gorgeous beer.
Smell- Bright citrus fruit notes. Mild smell of hay. Alcohol is present.
Taste- Alcohol is on the front. Fairly sweet with mild grapefruit notes. Apple notes and mild floral aftertaste.
Mouthfeel- Very carbonated. A little dry. Has a mild acidity.
This is my go-to pizza beer. It tastes incredible with pizza.
