750ml bottle received in trade with Scoobydank. Thanks a ton for this one Bill! Poured into a Dogfish Head signature glass.
A - Pours a murky dark amber brown, with a full three fingers of cream colored foam. Head dissipates quickly, but leaves 1/2 a finger of foam behind that just stays there forever and some nice sticky lacing on the sides of the glass.
S - Sugary, just a hint of cherries, a bit boozy in smell...not getting bourbon in the nose - just sweet and alcohol. A bit fruity overall.
T - Yikes...this is boozy! Lots of belgian yeast character in here. Bubble gum and some cloves mixed in with bourbon. Quite a bit of malty sweetness too. This is hot!!! A little bit of aging will do this one wonders, I think. Overall, good flavors and enjoyable, but a little rough with its intensity.
M - Medium bodied...carbonation is on the lower side. Alcohol fills the mouth...leaves behind a tingle and a bit of a burn.
D - This is very much a sipper. Having this as a third beer of the night (shared the bottles before - and this one) might be a bit of a mistake. Every sip is taking a toll on me. Enjoyable flavors, but it is a bit rough in its young stage. Thinking about aging a bottle and seeing how it is after a bit of time.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle into an oversized wine glass. Head starts out as fizzy on the initial pour, but quickly settles into a large fluffy tan head. Deep amber-brown body.
Some cherry and a lot of bourbon in the nose, with typical quad notes lurking in the background. Definitely some alcohol present in the nose as well.
Tastes wonderful and exactly how you would expect. Definitely a quad backbone with bourbon and cherry vanilla floating on top. Some pepperiness, probably from the higher ABV.
Mouth seems a pinch thin, but swirling in the glass helps.
A really great beer, enjoying the last night in our current house. Lots of memories here, and this beer will be one of them.
