Boulevard Single-Wide I.P.A. is our take on a style that originated in 18th century Great Britain. This American version—inspired by our Smokestack Series Double-Wide I.P.A.—boasts a heady combination of six varieties of hops, some of which were employed for dry-hopping.

Wonderful bottle conditioned IPA at 5.7%. Abundant and original flavors.

A Frothy pour, straw golden color- But the head is like merengue and forms a floating island and the lacing is plentiful. A lot of lacing behind, good looking.

S Bold bright brassy citrus up front with pilsner malt crispness, and doses of pineapple and orange zest in the peppery end-notes.

T Follows the smell with strong grapefruit flavors backed by orange zest, lemongrass, and herbs against a pilsner like lemony malt bill.

F - Thinnish. Not as weighty as the best. Dry, hoppy bitter, almost chalky finish with a lingering, bitey grapefruit taste. Too monotone?

Great bottle ferment with some catty, nutty, grassy elements. (710 characters)

A - Pours crystal clear pale honey with a very creamy 2 inch head. Head fades fairly quickly to a tight, white cap. Nice lacing.

S - Smells of pine, hops, with a nice undercurrent of earthiness.

T - Very nice, well-balanced melange of Flavor and buttering hops with some pineiness and that earthiness that I love so much. Then aftertaste is a nice balance of residual malt sweetness and the last remnants of the hop earthiness.

S - good carbonation level, medium body, bit of an oily slipperiness at first that moves into a very slight dry, puckering finish.

D - Not my favorite IPA, but probably in my top 5. (613 characters)

A - Hazy golden brown with three fingers of off white head. Camouflage patter of head after each sip as the suds clings.

S - Muted hoppy characteristics, floral, cake batter, doughy.

T - Hops build slowly and balance nicely, low to medium bodied mouth feel, oily hop profile, finishes semi sweet with some bitterness to dry it out.

O - This is not a palate blasting american IPA, but rather a smooth and balanced easy drinking brew.

Notes - picked this up while visiting Cape Girardeau for a family reunion. (515 characters)

From the mixed 12 pack (which I love to see) this was one of four beers included.

Poured into a pint glass, the beer is apricot/gold with a chill haze and sticky off-white head.

I like the aroma of citrus and pine.

The taste leads with some resiny bitterness and slightly sweet malts. There is some citrus notes and a touch of something herbal at mid-glass.

The mouth is a touch oily. The carbonation is active and that keeps the beer from really coating your tongue and mouth. I like this one! (506 characters)

The body is a hazy golden yellow color topped with a thin white head. A nice malt aroma is matched with smooth hops...nothing crazy, but solid. The taste is fresh hops with a lot of citrus. Feel is lively and spot on. This is an easy drink and a solid choice for an IPA. (274 characters)

Poured from 12 oz bottle.

Appears light gold with quick dissolving head. Smells very piney and clean. Drier crisp taste with grassy, pine nose. Very drinkable. Would definitely recommend especially for people that love grassy and pine tasting IPAs. Maybe not for the new IPA drinker as the hop presence is of medium intensity. (327 characters)

12 oz bottle. Pours light golden with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of citrusy hops, tropical fruit and bready malt. Body is full and crisp. Citrusy, herbal hops, bready malt and ripe fruit fill the mouth. Finish is long, dry, and grapefruity. Delicious brew. (306 characters)

I feel this is a perfect session Ipa even tho sessions are generally around the 4%abv this kicks it up slightly but it's very flavorful for what it is,what can you really expect with such a low abv it's balanced and bitter. Though it lacks the complexity and fruitiness of a higher abv ale, this is the perfect go to session in the cooler for an all day drinking event, the bottle conditioning yeast adds that same flavor present in Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale. Great session ipa in my opinion that won't have you regretting your actions lmao (540 characters)

Great pine notes in the aroma, and a good haze in its opacity. Not as bitter as I was expecting, but more on the crisp side. Very refreshing, just not very potent. (165 characters)

Golden orange with a little haze and a small steady head of foam. Light smell of citric, yeast and some flowers. Sweet fruity taste in the mouth, turning into a pleasantly bitter aftertaste with hints of grapefruit. The yeast gives this IPA a nice mouth feel. (259 characters)

355ml bottle poured into tulip a ways back (from notes)

A hazy orange liquid with plenty of bubbles, two fingers of foam has great retention slowly falling to an pencil top eraser looking island leaving partial rings deep down the glass, looks great

S mild tropical nose with some melon, pineapple, tangerine, and lemon, floral and a little spicy, smells good but could use just a little intensity

T a little pine and grapefruit I didn't really smell, not all the tropical fruit the nose had going for it and a little sweet malt in the background

M lighter side of medium, enough bubbles to give it some life, a little gritty on the palate, some lemon pith lingers

O pretty good IPA and lower ABV so it would work better in the summer heat than many hoppy brews I tend to drink

Its a solid brew but with such a hefty price tag here in Alberta I'm not sure how often I'm going to get to it (900 characters)

Look: 2 fingers or white fluffy head dissipates slowly with gorgouse lacing. Hazy light amber and medium carbonation. Looks just like I want my IPA to look

Smell: Smells more like an old-school English IPA. Big malt. Funky earthy hops. Good citrus.

Taste: Great acidity. Grapefruit galore. Finishes with real funky bitterness.

Feel: Medium bodied. Finishes slightly dry. Carbonation is fun.

Overall: I'm really struggling with how to rate this. I really feel like this is way more like an English IPA than an American IPA, but BA knows best. So just for that I have to knock it a few points, but, know that I really like this one more so than perhaps my score would necessarily indicate. (691 characters)

Poured from a bottle with a best by date, 10/21/15 which indicates this is very fresh: clear, golden-orange hue with a quickly receding white head.

Very aggressive aroma of citrus and pine wafted from the bottle.

This is a subdued yet refreshing IPA; in fact, it drinks like a hoppy and balanced, American pale ale. Mild tropic fruit is the characteristic flavor with hints of mango and marmalade; no pine flavor evident. There is a yeasty, bready aftertaste that is unique to the American IPA style.

Very clean mouth feel with little lingering bitterness or sweetness on the palate.

This is a very quaffable, thirst-quenching ale, but it is very mild and restrained for an American IPA. Well worth seeking out. (719 characters)

The best by date on this bottle is 29 Jun so some of the strong hop characteristics will have faded a bit.

The beer pours out into a Duvel glass a lightly hazed apricot color with a frothy 1" white head that slowly recedes to a ring around the glass and a thin layer of foam on the liquid with some irregular islands of foam. Sipping leaves patches, speckles and a few legs of lacing, some of which run back down to the liquid.

The aroma has a bit of grapefruit, some tangerine and orange along with malty sweetness.

The flavors are much as expected from the nose with citric fruits, including grapefruit, orange and tangerine. The bitterness is very much in the back ground as the sweetness of the malt recedes to leave the impression of dryness that invites another sip.

The mouthfeel is on the light side of medium and has some very light faint carbonation. The finish begins in fruity sweetness about half way through and early on gradually becomes dry as the malt faces leaving only light dry bitterness in the background.

This is a nice IPA which I'm enjoying drinking and I'd be fine with having it again, particularly since it is gentle on the tongue and would make a good IPA to serve to guests who don't care for strongly bittered beers. (1,257 characters)

This is a cloudy, hazy, orange-golden brew. The head is white and thin, and the smell is very hoppy. Spice, pine, and a little citrus. The taste is dryish, with some fruit and lots of hops. Bitterness comes in the foretaste, with a little malt to balance. Medium in body and fairly drinkable. (297 characters)

This beer is just on the hoppy side of life. It is crisp with some short lived bitterness. It has a citrus a pine nose and tastes of barley, honey, straw, citrus and pine. It pours a sparkling golden hue with a large slightly off-white head. (241 characters)

Solid IPA from opening sip to the last drop. Golden and slightly hazey look. Clean taste with a semi citrus finish. Somewhat of a lighter feel than that of its brethren. Great IPA to start with for newbies to the hop centric style. (231 characters)

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 7/19/2015. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bright citrus/tropical hops and light-moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon/orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity and robustness of bright citrus/tropical hops and light-moderate bready malt flavors; with a nice crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice IPA. All around great complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and light-moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering. (1,569 characters)

Golden body big bubbly white head that looks like it will stick
big citrus aroma is that Citra? With a slight pungent wacky baccy note too
This has a lovely flavour, starts with lemon & hints of mandarin, goes through to cheesecake base maltiness then warms to a lasting bitter finish
The let down is mouth feel, it feels wishy washy & watery, no real substance to back up a lot of big flavour
Nice looking ale, big aroma, fantastic big but balanced flavour let down by mouthfeel but still I like this, I like it a lot. (519 characters)

I am always picking up something I haven't tried. I'm glad I happened on to this one. Starts out real clean ( one of the type you would like to crack open on a 90 degree day) and leaves you with a nice hoppy aroma. I enjoyed this beer start to finish and very little question remained after I was done with a couple. Easy drinking IPA that satisfies my IPA cravings. (373 characters)

Looks like an IPA. Smells like an IPA. Tastes like an IPA. Maybe a little harsh for the lowish ABV. Very generic IPA. Can't really say anything bad, but I wouldn't get it again. (177 characters)

The people at Boulevard are cocksuckers. This is one of the first IPAs I ever enjoyed. It's a classic to me and one that everybody should try. I've never had it on tap but that would be much better. This was poured from a fresh bottle into a claret glass. Here we go.

Look: The color is pure gold like clover honey. They head is off white and consists of small bubbles. Lacing is apparent down the glass as I drink.

Smell: A lovely sweet floral aroma prevails but with undertones of malty goodness. The classic biscuity malt character is harmonious with tropical and fruity hops.

Taste: Slightly bitter tropical fruit hops and a touch of peach play partner to equally present malt backbone that is well balanced.

Feel: Smooth, crisp, and full all at the same time. It is dry at the end with a bit of lingering from the hop terpenes. Mild astringency is also present but fleeting.

Overall: This is the best beer Boulevard manages to produce year round, and like all of their beers it has extremely weak ABV but possess definite quality. This is a beginner's IPA. Oh, and fuck Boulevard. They are as much craft beer as Blue Moon. I can't wait for them to eat dirt. (1,169 characters)
