Boulevard Single-Wide I.P.A. is our take on a style that originated in 18th century Great Britain. This American version—inspired by our Smokestack Series Double-Wide I.P.A.—boasts a heady combination of six varieties of hops, some of which were employed for dry-hopping.

Poured into DT Tulip
A: golden, straw colored, good clarity, head is light and quickly dissipates, little lacing
S: fresh hay, biscuit, grass, hint of lemon
T: bitterness with no lemon or citrus I was picking up on the nose, very 1 dimensional. The malt is there is has a clean balance to it.
M:carbonation somewhat heavy to me, a bit rough of a feel to it but refreshing, hop bitterness lingers on the back of the tongue.
O: This is very much an English style IPA, not my style and not much going on with this one. The first batch of The Calling from Boulevard that came to FL was a wonderful; a light pineapple bomb that blew me away. I was hoping for a little brother to that beer here. I can see what they were after and I respect it for what it is, but not for me. My wife however really likes it and it is a well made brew. If you like the English IPA style this one may suit you.

355ml bottle from Beer52 website:
A really nice American IPA with the tropical fruits & citrus flavours I've come to expect from the style as well as a nice caramel & biscuit base. There was a good combination of apricot, mango & peach coming through that were balanced against the sweet malts & the beer went down easily as a result. Good stuff from Boulevard, hopefully I can find some more of their beers in the UK this year.

Pours a honey golden color with huge head and tons of lace. It's right on course as a good IPA should be.

Comes out of the bottle smelling like a skunky mexican lager, but a closer whiff in the glass reveals balanced notes of pine and cracker respectively; a dash of onion/armpit, and a faint swish of rotted brown sugar.

Taste is rather bland, offering mineral water out front with hints of evergreen and washed out mandarin orange tin can; a bit of biscuit malt, finally wrapping up with an underwhelming honey infused seltzer.

Feel is a bit washed out, with a touch of carbonation to help the beer live a little bit, but no finish is granted except for a dusty, empty ending.

Overall, Single Wide was a total fail. It's a few days out of date (about 2 weeks) but shouldn't dilapidate in quality this fast. I'd be willing to give it another spin but I won't be expecting much.

Not much going on with this IPA. The look is pretty good but not much head retention. Smells a bit citrusy but not very strong on the nose. Taste is underwhelming. I like my IPAs to to have a strong citrus, pine or some dank. This is just a subtle bitter that just doesn't shine. Goes down ok but nothing special. No need to have this beer again unless it's the only IPA on the tap list at a second rate restaurant. Guess what? That's exactly why I'm drinking it.

L: Golden brown color , small top of head when i pour it in the glass that disappear rather quick, nice lacing

S: Fruity smell. Citrus fruits ,especially grapefruits , floral hops, pine

T: Much as it smell, Hops and citrus fruits ,spices is dominant, caramel malt comes at the finish. Bitterness is not balanced enough for the aftertaste i think and get a little to dominant.

F: Medium bodied, carbonation is good, hoppy bitterness in mouth

O: Is a decent and very drinkable IPA , but far from the best i have had.

Piney, subtle and citrusy. Not a heavy west coast style but a very nice variation of an English IPA ano the West Coast variety. Too strong to be truly sessionable, it bears its uniqueness very well. A favorite.

Poured from a bottle into a nonic glass. Hazy amber color. Leaves a nice lacing. Floral smell and taste. Not too bitter but leaves a lingering slightly bitter after taste.

Even though I have had better this is an overall a good IPA.

Effervescent gold with light head.
Smells hoppy and citrusy and dry. A touch of juicer fruit sneaks in through the lemon. Yum!
Initially soft and surprisingly fruity, there is a bitter, needly-prickly dryness for a moment before the malty smooth-sweet finish. Aftertaste has just enough residual hoppiness to remind you that this is an IPA.
Rather light, but very drinkable. Great beer!

Amber orange color with a thick head with great retention and leaving some laces.
Nice aroma with notes of lychees, fresh oranges, grapefruit, biscuit and caramel malt and mild pine.
Citrusy flavor with notes of grapefruit, spices, mandarin, slight toasted malts, 3C hops, tea leaves, orange peel, lemongrass and lime. Dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light body with appropriate carbonation.
Pretty decent American IPA, although it is not that fresh still conserved well its characteristics. Standard preferred recipe, cannot go wrong.

Floral, resiny, fairly dank, lightly citrusy/grapefruit hops dominate the aroma, with a soft caramel sweetness countering.

Flavor reveals more citrus punch upfront, finishing resiny and moderately bitter. The caramel malt backbone lends a mild sweetness that plays well with the citrus and bitterness.

Wonderful bottle conditioned IPA at 5.7%. Abundant and original flavors.

A Frothy pour, straw golden color- But the head is like merengue and forms a floating island and the lacing is plentiful. A lot of lacing behind, good looking.

S Bold bright brassy citrus up front with pilsner malt crispness, and doses of pineapple and orange zest in the peppery end-notes.

T Follows the smell with strong grapefruit flavors backed by orange zest, lemongrass, and herbs against a pilsner like lemony malt bill.

F - Thinnish. Not as weighty as the best. Dry, hoppy bitter, almost chalky finish with a lingering, bitey grapefruit taste. Too monotone?

Great bottle ferment with some catty, nutty, grassy elements.

A - Pours crystal clear pale honey with a very creamy 2 inch head. Head fades fairly quickly to a tight, white cap. Nice lacing.

S - Smells of pine, hops, with a nice undercurrent of earthiness.

T - Very nice, well-balanced melange of Flavor and buttering hops with some pineiness and that earthiness that I love so much. Then aftertaste is a nice balance of residual malt sweetness and the last remnants of the hop earthiness.

S - good carbonation level, medium body, bit of an oily slipperiness at first that moves into a very slight dry, puckering finish.

D - Not my favorite IPA, but probably in my top 5.

A - Hazy golden brown with three fingers of off white head. Camouflage patter of head after each sip as the suds clings.

S - Muted hoppy characteristics, floral, cake batter, doughy.

T - Hops build slowly and balance nicely, low to medium bodied mouth feel, oily hop profile, finishes semi sweet with some bitterness to dry it out.

O - This is not a palate blasting american IPA, but rather a smooth and balanced easy drinking brew.

Notes - picked this up while visiting Cape Girardeau for a family reunion.

From the mixed 12 pack (which I love to see) this was one of four beers included.

Poured into a pint glass, the beer is apricot/gold with a chill haze and sticky off-white head.

I like the aroma of citrus and pine.

The taste leads with some resiny bitterness and slightly sweet malts. There is some citrus notes and a touch of something herbal at mid-glass.

The mouth is a touch oily. The carbonation is active and that keeps the beer from really coating your tongue and mouth. I like this one!

The body is a hazy golden yellow color topped with a thin white head. A nice malt aroma is matched with smooth hops...nothing crazy, but solid. The taste is fresh hops with a lot of citrus. Feel is lively and spot on. This is an easy drink and a solid choice for an IPA.

Poured from 12 oz bottle.

Appears light gold with quick dissolving head. Smells very piney and clean. Drier crisp taste with grassy, pine nose. Very drinkable. Would definitely recommend especially for people that love grassy and pine tasting IPAs. Maybe not for the new IPA drinker as the hop presence is of medium intensity.

12 oz bottle. Pours light golden with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of citrusy hops, tropical fruit and bready malt. Body is full and crisp. Citrusy, herbal hops, bready malt and ripe fruit fill the mouth. Finish is long, dry, and grapefruity. Delicious brew.

I feel this is a perfect session Ipa even tho sessions are generally around the 4%abv this kicks it up slightly but it's very flavorful for what it is,what can you really expect with such a low abv it's balanced and bitter. Though it lacks the complexity and fruitiness of a higher abv ale, this is the perfect go to session in the cooler for an all day drinking event, the bottle conditioning yeast adds that same flavor present in Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale. Great session ipa in my opinion that won't have you regretting your actions lmao

Great pine notes in the aroma, and a good haze in its opacity. Not as bitter as I was expecting, but more on the crisp side. Very refreshing, just not very potent.

Golden orange with a little haze and a small steady head of foam. Light smell of citric, yeast and some flowers. Sweet fruity taste in the mouth, turning into a pleasantly bitter aftertaste with hints of grapefruit. The yeast gives this IPA a nice mouth feel.

355ml bottle poured into tulip a ways back (from notes)

A hazy orange liquid with plenty of bubbles, two fingers of foam has great retention slowly falling to an pencil top eraser looking island leaving partial rings deep down the glass, looks great

S mild tropical nose with some melon, pineapple, tangerine, and lemon, floral and a little spicy, smells good but could use just a little intensity

T a little pine and grapefruit I didn't really smell, not all the tropical fruit the nose had going for it and a little sweet malt in the background

M lighter side of medium, enough bubbles to give it some life, a little gritty on the palate, some lemon pith lingers

O pretty good IPA and lower ABV so it would work better in the summer heat than many hoppy brews I tend to drink

Its a solid brew but with such a hefty price tag here in Alberta I'm not sure how often I'm going to get to it

Look: 2 fingers or white fluffy head dissipates slowly with gorgouse lacing. Hazy light amber and medium carbonation. Looks just like I want my IPA to look

Smell: Smells more like an old-school English IPA. Big malt. Funky earthy hops. Good citrus.

Taste: Great acidity. Grapefruit galore. Finishes with real funky bitterness.

Feel: Medium bodied. Finishes slightly dry. Carbonation is fun.

Overall: I'm really struggling with how to rate this. I really feel like this is way more like an English IPA than an American IPA, but BA knows best. So just for that I have to knock it a few points, but, know that I really like this one more so than perhaps my score would necessarily indicate.

Poured from a bottle with a best by date, 10/21/15 which indicates this is very fresh: clear, golden-orange hue with a quickly receding white head.

Very aggressive aroma of citrus and pine wafted from the bottle.

This is a subdued yet refreshing IPA; in fact, it drinks like a hoppy and balanced, American pale ale. Mild tropic fruit is the characteristic flavor with hints of mango and marmalade; no pine flavor evident. There is a yeasty, bready aftertaste that is unique to the American IPA style.

Very clean mouth feel with little lingering bitterness or sweetness on the palate.

This is a very quaffable, thirst-quenching ale, but it is very mild and restrained for an American IPA. Well worth seeking out.
