Notes/Commercial Description:
This beer is retired; no longer brewed.

They say there are two sides to every story, and that’s certainly true of Two Jokers Double-Wit. On the one hand, it’s a revival of the classic Belgian “wit,” or “white” ale, with lactic fermentation providing a refreshing tartness. On the other hand, it’s a modern, uniquely American brew; big, flavorful, and spiced with cardamom, coriander, orange peel, lavender, and grains of paradise.

750ml into a tulip.

A: Deep murky orange, gold highlights, and a nice two finger frothy white head. Quite nice.

S: Like a bouquet of flowers. Lavender, and spice. Maybe some light breadiness.

T: Strong lavender. Spiciness of coriander and orange peel. Bread and notes of clove, a light sweetness.

M: Heavier than any other Wit i've had, but for 8% it's quite fluffy in the body. A small level of crispness takes over on the finish.

D: Very very nice big witbier. Boulevard continues to impress and surprise with this smokestack series, and this lavender and spice is no exception.

Odor: Pepper and citrus

Appearance: Smoke poured out when the cork was popped. Served in a challis glass, The beer poured out a milky light orange Fast dissipating lace on glass

Taste: Strong taste of lemon and orange peel with a heavy coriander spice. High carbonation just short of a champagne like feel. Slightly creamy but more acidic than Blue Moon.

Good Beer. I was taken back by how citrusy the beer tasted but as I drank became very accustomed to the taste. Very light. Would be a great summer beer.

In my Duvel Tulip. Pours a cloudy golden with two to three fingers of white head. Very pretty looking beer.

Aroma is bananas, cloves, gum, sweet and citrus fruits. Wheat and sugar, very inviting and complex.

The taste is an entirely different thing than the aroma. It’s sweet and sour, all the citrus comes out in it.

Palate is great! Good carbonation and rolls smoothly along the tongue. There isn’t much of an after taste to speak of.

Overall a very interesting brew. I’ve never encountered a beer that accomplishes what this does, giving off an aroma that isn’t anywhere close to the actual taste. Beautiful.

A-Cloudy bright orange, not much carbonation, one finger fluffy head.

S-Wheat, grass, orange, lemon, mild funk, grass-like spices as well.

T-Good deal of orange and lemon, slight wheat. Mild tartness. Not much in the way of spices.

M-Light and not much carbonation. Lack of carbonation, makes it seem a tad syrupy.

O-Yeah the bottle was older as it has been discontinued. Fresh maybe it will be better. Drink it now if you have any lying.
