A: Pours a hazy, cloudy yellow-orange color. The golden-tinted head is massive, with a very dense, frothy texture. Really stellar. Retention is excellent, and loads of lacing stick to the glass as the head gradually fades.
S: Spicy, powdery notes up front - the saison yeast is definitely working well here. Tart, fruity aromas of peach, citrus, and lychee are prominent. Some perfumey notes are also present. Some banana becomes apparent as the beer warms to room temperature.
T: Some light, faintly sweet pale maltiness up front. This is quickly subsumed by funky, tart, fruity yeast character. Waves of fruity come and go, with orchard and citrus flavors. Banana tones are also lurking in the background. Hops are surprisingly bitter for the style, although they are definitely working well here, adding some citric/grapefruit flavor.
M: Somewhat full-bodied for the style. Carbonation is aggressive, and the overall mouthfeel is a bit dry and astringent, perhaps due to its unusual hoppiness. Alcohol is mildly noticeable.
O: This is a really good, unique take on a saison. It's unabashedly hoppy, but it retains the trademarks of the style rather well. This is a beautiful beer, on par in presentation with any hazy, foam-topped Belgian or German classic. I think the hoppiness lends a somewhat brash mouthfeel, for the style at least. Regardless, this is a very good beer.

This saison swings more toward the French style. Greater clarity than the Belgian type. Good bitterness, perhaps about 50 to 60 IBUs, with a mild Goldings nose and some more citrusy type of hop, like Columbus. Good hop complement to the more orange citrus profile of what I'm guessing is a French saison yeast, like Wyeast 3711. Sweet start and sweet finish, no tartness or barnyard funk, saved from stickiness by the high bitterness levels. Also, a bit of alcohol on the finish. Thick, long-lasting head. Generally refreshing as a strong French saison should be.
