A - Poured out of bottle into a wide flute beer glass. Lots of bubbles on the initial pour, quickly dissipating head with just the edge of the glass graced by the lace. Bright orange color, opaque.
S - Floral hops and citrus.. mostly grapefruit. Pleasant and mellow.
T - No real flavors coming through, though still very nice... maybe a little orange. The bitterness coming into play at the end, which is good.
M - Soft, not quite creamy though.
D - While not a powerhouse, it is very nice to drink. For me it fits both a summer and winter drink. It's simple taste makes it refreshing for hot days, but the softness also makes it appealing to a cold night in front of the fireplace.

This saison swings more toward the French style. Greater clarity than the Belgian type. Good bitterness, perhaps about 50 to 60 IBUs, with a mild Goldings nose and some more citrusy type of hop, like Columbus. Good hop complement to the more orange citrus profile of what I'm guessing is a French saison yeast, like Wyeast 3711. Sweet start and sweet finish, no tartness or barnyard funk, saved from stickiness by the high bitterness levels. Also, a bit of alcohol on the finish. Thick, long-lasting head. Generally refreshing as a strong French saison should be.
