Poured into a Pint Glass
Appearance - Wet Golden Straw, with an impressive fluffy 4 finger head, although not nearly as strong as big as Ommegang.. You really gotta wait for the head to die down before you get any real sense of smell. The lacing it leaves behind is really good though.
Smell - Cloves, Cracked Peppers, Bananas, Lemon Zest, Mild Piney Hops and some maltiness. This smells way more like a traditional Saison than the more recent ones I've had. The aroma is subdued, but nice.
Taste - Cloves, Peppers, Lemon Zest, and Malts. There's also a very earthy/grassy aftertaste going on. Flavors aren't too strong, but they're still there and it's nicely balanced.
Mouthfeel - Light bodied with some very mild carbonation. It's got a very crisp and refreshing feel to it, which makes it very easy to drink.
Overall - A very good solid Saison. It's not anything too special, but it's still a great tasting beer!

This saison swings more toward the French style. Greater clarity than the Belgian type. Good bitterness, perhaps about 50 to 60 IBUs, with a mild Goldings nose and some more citrusy type of hop, like Columbus. Good hop complement to the more orange citrus profile of what I'm guessing is a French saison yeast, like Wyeast 3711. Sweet start and sweet finish, no tartness or barnyard funk, saved from stickiness by the high bitterness levels. Also, a bit of alcohol on the finish. Thick, long-lasting head. Generally refreshing as a strong French saison should be.
