A - hazy yellow with an orange tinge, thick fluffy white head persists, looks great, glows in the glass, leaves a sheet of lace on the side of my snifter
S - fresh bright citrus, lemon, orange, hint of grapefruit zest, peppery spice, very inviting
T - more of those fresh fruit flavours, like a citrus fruit salad, but not sweet or tart, lingering pepper in the background that carries into the finish, very bright flavours,
M - very smooth and creamy, yet light bodied and dry, drying alcohol really compliments the finish, there is some warmth, but it works really well, carbonation is firm but not over the top
O - Boulevard sure does know how to blend american hops into a saison, delicious.
Not once did I specifically mention the word hops in my assessment. I love that the hops blend in perfectly, which is exactly in the spirit of belgian brewing (if you can taste a specific ingredient, you used too much). I love pale belgians that have bright citrus flavours, and this one delivers in spades. Superb!
