Had this on tap at O'Dowd's in Zona Rosa out of the appropriate Smokestack glassware.
Appearance: Tank 7 is a slightly hazy light straw color with 2 fingers of white head. Great retention and chunky, fluffy lacing that clings all over the glass.
S: Bananas, cloves, slight citrus and tons of fruity esters. Really nice and flavorful scents. The esters in this one are more intense than most saisons...it must be from the higher %ABV. I like it.
Taste: Bananas, cloves and citrus are there in bulk, with a bunch of esters and peppery spices on the back end, giving a bit of an alcohol burn on the finish. Super, a very robust saison.
Mouthfeel/Overall: Light bodied, medium carbonation makes for a very smooth mouthfeel. Easy drinking and one of the most flavorful saisons I've tried. Overall, this is my favorite Boulevard beer. I come back time and again and it never disappoints. It has garnered somewhat of a cult following in KC which is well deserved. Terrific favors, and is very easy drinking, however if you don't watch out it will kick you on the teeth in a hurry.
